New Glarus Police Department News Releases May 3, 2015 April 26th TRAFFIC At 4:41 p.m., Police cited Derek W. Kortemeier, 18, Freeport, Il for Speeding in the 1100 block of Sth 69. ASSIST EMS At 8:04 p.m., Police along with New Glarus Fire First Response Responded with New Glarus Area EMS to the EMS station for a Medical call. April 27th TRAFFIC At 11:03 a.m. Police cited Stacy Austin, 27, New Glarus, WI for speeding in the 10 Block of 2nd St. TRAFFIC At 6:31 p.m., Police cited Eric J. Miller, 71, Wilton Manors, FL for speeding in the 1100 block of Sth 69. LOCKOUT At 10:34 p.m., Police conducted a vehicle unlock in the 600 block of 2nd Avenue. vehicle was unlocked without damage. April 28th TRUANCY At 3:00 p.m., Police were notified of a truancy violation occurring at the New Glarus Elementary School. As a result of an investigation, Nicole A. Coby, 28, New Glarus was cited for Parental Truancy Liability Violation. TRAFFIC At 5:40 p.m., Police cited Robert L. Wenger, 53, Browntown for a driver seatbelt violation on Sth 69 at 11th Avenue. ALARM At 6:07 p.m., Police responded to a burglar alarm located in the 1800 block of 2nd Street. Alarm was set off by accident. DISORDERLY At 7:53 p.m., Police responded to the 400 block of 2nd Street for a report Of a disagreement between an tenant and a landlord. ASSIST AGENCY At 10:40 p.m., Police were requested to assist the Green County Sheriff’s Department in Exeter Township with a male subject who was actively resisting arrest. April 29th TRAFFIC At 5:49 p.m., Police cited Dean R. Lehr, 51, Monticello for a driver’s Seatbelt violation on Sth 69 at 14th Avenue. ASSIST At 6:11 p.m., Police were notified of a traffic hazard on Sth 69 in New Glarus Township. Green County Sheriff’s Department was notified. TRAFFIC At 10:05 p.m., Police cited Corey Nelson, 19, New Glarus for Operating A Motor Vehicle While Suspended on 14th Avenue at 1st Sreet. April 30th LOCKOUT At 12:28 p.m., Police assisted a citizen that had locked their keys in their vehicle at the Ampride gas station. The vehicle was unlocked without damaging the vehicle. DISORDERLY At 1:16 p.m., Police responded to the New Glarus Schools for a disturbance. As a result of the incident a juvenile will be referred to Juvenile Intake for Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Damage to Property. TRAFFIC At 4:10 p.m., Police cited Humberto Olmos, 31, Monroe for the violations Of Operating A Motor Vehicle While Suspended, No Insurance and Driver Seatbelt on Sth 69 at 11th Avenue. TRAFFIC At 7:24 p.m., Police cited Dylan J. Bauman, 22, Juda for a driver seatbelt Violation on Sth 69 at 11th Avenue. May 1st EMS CALL At 5:12 p.m., New Glarus Police Department assisted the New Glarus Area EMS with a medical call on 13th Avenue. EMS CALL At 6:42 p.m., New Glarus Police Department assisted the New Glarus Area EMS with a medical call in the 1100 block 2nd Street. May 2nd MC ACCIDENT At 1:05 p.m., Police responded to a reported 2-vehicle crash in the 300 block of 14th Avenue. An investigation revealed that a 2006 Pontiac Vibe being operated by a Sawyer R. MYERS, 16, Evansville, lost control of vehicle and struck a legally parked 1998 Chevrolet truck belonging to Bryan BUESSER, New Glarus. MYERS vehicle sustained severe damage and BUESSER vehicle sustained moderate damage. There were no injuries reported. MYERS was cited for Inattentive Driving. TRAFFIC At 5:02 p.m., Police cited Mitchell D. Bliss, 21, Belleville, for Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance after stopping him on STH 69 near 6th Avenue for an equipment violation. Whitfield, 27, New Glarus, for Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance and Operating a Motor Vehicle without a Valid Driver’s License after stopping her on Railroad Street at 3rd Avenue for an equipment violation. May 3rd ANIMAL At 3:10 p.m., Police received a complaint in regards to a stray Boxer dog running at large. The owner was located and the dog was reunited with its owner. VANDALISM At 3:47 p.m., Police took a report of vandalism in the 300 block of 5th Avenue. Several items outside the residence were in disarray. Suspect(s) had knock over lawn ornaments and dumped dirt on a chair. ASSIST AGENCY At 5:00 p.m., New Glarus Police Department assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Department with a vehicle that was disabled in the N8900 block STH 69.
