General Announcements
1. EOC Testing Information
Parents, please note the following testing dates and bell schedules for the
upcoming testing days at Jasper:
May 5Algebra 1 EOC- Test begins at 9:00 AM
Non-testers will have a normal bell schedule on that day.
May 6Biology EOC- Test begins at 9:00 AM
Non-testers will have alternative activities on that day. To see a schedule for the

2. AP Testing Information
Advanced Placement (AP) exam time is fast approaching. The dates and times
for these exams are established by the College Board, the developers of the
Advanced Placement program. This is the schedule for this year's AP exams at
Jasper:
Calculus BC - Tuesday, May 5 at 7:45 a.m.
European History AP - Friday, May 8 at 11:45 a.m.
-Students will eat lunch at 11:15 a.m. and report to their testing
rooms at 11:45 a.m.
World History AP - Thursday, May 14 at 7:45 a.m.
Human Geography AP - Friday, May 15 at 7:45 a.m.
Important Notes Morning AP testing (Calculus BC, World History and Human Geography)
begins before the normal school start time. AP students who ride busses
to Jasper will have to make other transportation arrangements to arrive
on campus by 7:45 a.m. Students should report immediately to their
testing room, and testing will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m.

AP students arriving after 8:00 a.m. on their test day(s) will not be
allowed to test. AP exam fees will not be refunded.

Students who participate in off-campus athletics at Plano West or offcampus PE during 1st period should report to the Jasper campus at 7:45
a.m. for any AP test scheduled to begin in the morning. Students should
inform their coaches of their upcoming absence for AP testing.

Students who participate in off-campus athletics at Plano West or offcampus PE during 7th period and are taking the European History AP test
on May 8 will not be dismissed from Jasper until 4:15 p.m. Students
should inform their coaches of their upcoming absence for AP testing.

All electronic equipment, including cell/smart phones, listening/recording
devices, and cameras are prohibited in any AP test room and during any
breaks.

Students should report to their testing rooms with two sharpened #2
pencils (not mechanical) and two black pens (all tests). Students taking
the Calculus exam should also bring a graphing calculator


3. Sophomore Class President Election Information
Any 9th grader that is interested in running for sophomore class president for the
2015-2016 school year, needs to stop by the student center and pick up a packet
starting April 28th . SCP completed packets are due May 5th by 4:30. If you have
any questions, please see Mr. Eppler in the student center.

PTSA & Jasper Booster Clubs Announcements
1. Sage Announcement
The PATH Session on Section 504 that was cancelled in February due to weather
has been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 6, from 6:30-8:30pm. Here are the
details:

This workshop will provide an overview of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act
of 1973. Participants will learn that schools have an obligation to prevent
discrimination based on disability, to provide equal opportunity to all students,
and to provide FAPE (Free Appropriate Public Education) to each qualified
student with a disability. The definition of disability will be explained and the
identification process for the 504 Plan will be explored.

Jasper Club, Sports, & Activities/ Senior High Announcements
1. Cooperative Education Applications
The deadline for cooperative education applications is May 22, 2015.
Applications must be complete (including official attendance record for the 20142015 school year) and submitted to Kelley Wonsmos in G132 – Plano West
Senior High. Any student after the deadline who is listed as enrolled for co-op,
but has not yet submitted the required completed documentation, will be
removed from the class. Exceptions for late submissions will not be
accommodated.
2. PWSH Tennis Tryout Information
There will be an informational meeting on May 21st at 6pm in the Plano West
Presentation Room for all kids (and their parents) who are interested in trying
out for the Plano West Tennis Team. Packets with required paperwork will be
distributed and all questions concerning tryouts and the Plano West Tennis Team
will be answered. For more information, please contact Morgen Walker at

3. Plano West Swim & Dive Team Tryouts
There will be a mandatory Parent Meeting for all parents of students interested
in trying out for the Plano West Swim team: Tuesday, May 12, at 6:30 pm in the
Presentation Room at Plano West. (The team is open to students attending
Jasper, Shepton and West for the 2015-2016 school year.) Swimmers are
encouraged to attend this meeting.
New Swimmer Tryouts will be held Saturday, May 16, 7:00-9:00 am at Tom
Muehlenbeck Center. This is for any swimmer who is not currently on the Plano
West Swim Team. Tryouts will start promptly at 7am. Please RSVP to Coach
Jones @ [email protected] . Swimmers will need competition suits, goggles,
and caps. The try-out will be a swim practice designed to assess the swimmers'
competitive swimming skills (including all strokes), ability to work as a part of a
team, and competitive drive. A flier with this information is available in the school
office if needed.
The Diving Team works out at Oak Point Recreation Center at 7:00 AM Monday
thru Friday. Come by and meet Coach Solow. For tryout information contact the

4. BLUE NATION SPRING PICINC
The Tailgate Dinner is before the last scrimmage May 15th in the Clark Stadium
parking lot. It is for Plano West Wolves, Jasper Jaguars and Shepton Stallions.
We want to welcome our future wolves from Robinson and Renner too. Join
Plano West Quarterback Club and buy spirit wear.
Please join us between 4:30 and 6:30 for the Tailgate Dinner (players will not
attend). We are serving Hamburgers and Cheeseburgers and condiments
provided by The Hamburger Man.

5. PWSH JROTC Fundraiser
JROTC will have a fundraising event Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Chipotle at the
northeast corner of Park and Preston between 5:30 and 8:30 pm.
Just tell the cashier you are supporting the JROTC Booster Club and a portion of
your sale will support the JROTC program. Come have a
great meal for a good cause on Thursday, May 7th.
