Tshipi Borwa Mine is situated in the magisterial district of John Taolo
Gaetsewe District Municipality, 80 km North West of Kuruman. Tshipi is
currently building a flagship mine that will produce 2.4 million tons of
manganese ore per annum. We are therefore looking for mining
industry professionals who are innovative, results-oriented and selfdriven to be part of this exciting project. The successful candidates will

Position: Corporate Services Specialist
Location: Tshipi é Ntle Manganese Mining, Kathu, Northern Cape

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To implement and support the effective and efficient provision of Corporate Services within the business. Provide legal,
governance and compliance support to the Chief Corporate Services Officer.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Financial and budgetary effectiveness:
o Regularly and appropriately responds to spend against budget.
o Manages and reports legal and branding expenditure according to financial procedure.
o Follows procurement standards and ensures adherence to the prescribed budget and time frames
• Legal & Commercial Support:
• Record keeping & knowledge Management:
• Regulatory compliance:
o Monitors changes in legislation and prepares updates to the relevant heads of departments, executive
managers and board members.
o Compiles and updates compliance check-lists to be used for the purpose of monitoring compliance with
regulatory framework.
o Assists with the preparation of annual compliance reports for relevant stakeholders.
• Governance:
o Provides company secretarial duties to the CEO, Board of Directors and Executive Committee including:
a) Managing information and knowledge flow through the business;
b) Organising and preparing for board meetings and annual general meetings;
c) Maintaining documentation required for legislative and regulatory compliance purposes;
d) All annual returns;
e) Administering Board and Public Officer Appointments and registrations;
f) Drafting board and Board Committee meeting minutes and resolutions.
• Communication:
o Drafts company communication and press releases to ensure that information is disseminated effectively and
efficiently internally and externally.
o Compiles and designs communication templates and forms to ensure the consistent use of the Tshipi brand.
• Personal Development:
o Manages own performance in terms of agreed performance objectives.
o Identifies gaps in own development and creates and reviews development plans to increase performance
and ensure personal development.
o Works to master skills and competencies within own role to ensure personal development and performance.
o Actively participates in relevant industry forums to ensure an increase understanding of industry trends and
market environment.

• Stakeholder engagement and management:
o Manage relations with internal and external stakeholders to promote objectives of the company.
o Ensure that the needs of organisational stakeholders are prioritised and managed including:
a) The board of directors;
b) Commercial Manager;
c) Colleagues and employees;
d) Shareholders and investors;
e) Community and external stakeholders
o Work with managers and peers to discuss issues, coordinate activities, or resolve problems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
• LLB undergraduate degree (NQF 7).
• Postgraduate degree in law (NQF 8 or above) with specialization in commercial or mineral laws is preferential.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
• 7 years commercial, legal or company secretarial experience.
• Experience in drafting contracts, policies and other legal documents
• Mining industry experience is preferential
• Chartered secretary qualification would be an advantage
• Admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
w Ensure optimal availability of plant equipment and machinery.
w Fault finding, repairs and maintenance of both electrical and plant equipment and machinery.
w Ensure preventative maintenance planned and executed in a cost-effective manner.
w Ensure that all breakdowns are attended to immediately.
w Ensure compliance to operational and legal requirements with regard to Health and Safety.
w Conduct plant inspection and monitoring for potential and existing defects.
w Identifying and responding to safety hazards.
w Working shifts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
w N2 /N3 Millwright qualification
w Red seal Millwright trade test
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
w 5-7 years working experience within the mining environment.
w Good knowledge of PLC, VSD and SCADA.
w Computer Literacy.
w Ability to work shifts.
