The second semester D/F notices will be available for
view through the Aeries Portal on Tuesday, May 19th.
Please continue to monitor your child’s academic

grades as well as upcoming assignments.
SDUHSD is offering an Online Health Option for
students who are enrolled/enrolling in ISPE, Marching
Band and Team Sports PE the 15-16 school year.

for Fall and Spring ISPE. Please reference the following

Our last Blood Drive of the year is on Thursday, May
28th in the ASB room. Parents and families are
welcome to give blood at any time from 8am-1pm.

The Grad Night Committee Needs Your Help!
The Grad Night Committee needs parents from the classes of 2016, 2017 and 2018 to help plan and carry off this
year's Grad Night. It takes a village to plan a safe, fun night for our graduating seniors, and everyone’s help is
appreciated.
TO DO: Donate water, soda, chips, candy, fruit, orange juice, paper goods, plastic goods & senior prizes.
TO DO: Sign up to help before, during and after the event. Many positions are still available, including several that are
just two-hours long. (9th-11th)

LCC Boys Water Polo Pre-Season Meeting
Date: Thursday, May 21, 2015
Time: 5:30 - 7:00

Details: Come meet our new coaching team for the LCC Boys Water Polo team at our pre-season meeting this
Thursday from 5:30 - 7 pm. Students and their families will have the opportunity to learn about our new coaches,
their vision for the future of the program and about the upcoming season. Any student interested in trying out in the
fall should attend (that includes existing and potential players). Pizza and light refreshments will be served
afterwards.

Screen Your Teen for Sudden Cardiac Arrest
SCA is not a heart attack. It is an abnormality in the heart’s electrical system that abruptly stops the heartbeat. It is
fatal in 92 percent of cases if not properly treated within minutes. San Diego loses three to five teens every year from
SCA. These kids could have been saved with a simple, non-invasive EKG. Register for a free 2015 screenings:

SENIOR WEEK & GRAD NIGHT
Grad Night tickets are only sold on FRIDAYS at lunch in front of THE CALF. Price is
$110 and includes transportation, food, entertainment, prizes, a t-shirt and so much
more! Students must have their signed permission slip at time of ticket purchase (forms
were mailed out in senior packet and are available in the Foundation office).
Grad Night is held the night of graduation, June 12th. Students are to be dropped off
between 9:30 and 10pm in front of the LCC gym. Buses will depart at approximately 10pm for the venue
and will arrive back at LCC at 5am Saturday. A parent or guardian is responsible for dropping off and
picking up the graduate at LCC; students may NOT leave a car at LCC overnight. Questions? Contact Heidi

COLLEGE CAMPUS DEFENSE
Bosier Fitness and Title Boxing Club Carlsbad are hosting the College Campus Defense
seminar on May 30 1:30pm-4:30pm. The seminar will be broken into a lecture and
physical session so students have a chance to practice self defense techniques. TITLE

BOYS WATER POLO PRE-SEASON MEETING
The LCC Boys Water Polo meeting will be held this Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 5:30-7pm in the Media

MavLife News is selling Brag Banners! Advertise where your child is headed in the Fall
while supporting La Costa Canyon's Journalism program. Brag Banners have the
student’s name, the logo of the college they will attend, and the official Maverick logo; they
are being hung in the Media Center until graduation, when each senior will be presented
with their banner as well as their diploma. Brag Banners are $40 until June 1, when they go up to $45;
place your order via the Mavericks Webstore through June 5 . Thank you for your support! Go Mavs!
LCC FOUNDATION NEEDS YOU!
The Foundation Grants Committee is looking for someone who can help us find and apply
for grants. If you are a grant writer, please contact [email protected]
Please consider becoming a Foundation board member at LCC. Our monthly meetings
run for 60-90 minutes Sept - June. Whatever your interests: special events, fundraising,
marketing, photography, development, let us know - you can be as involved as you want to
be. Our Foundation volunteers are a fun bunch and we love our mission at LCCHS. If you have questions
or would like to express your interest, email Julie at [email protected].
Our VP of Marketing is looking for one (or several) parent volunteers to help with marketing, specifically
with the production of the calendar, website design and management, promotion, event communication and
