Mavericks have no shortage of spirit. The Mavs are
represented in the surrounding neighborhood communities
proudly wearing Maverick gear, cars adorned with the
steerhead logo, and you can catch many students cheering
on their peers in the infamous Stampede student section at
sporting events.
Connections
One of the most
influential programs on campus is ASB, the Associated
Student Body. They work to organize lunchtime activities,
student events, and help to cultivate LCC connections. LCC
offers more than 82 student clubs. For a complete listing of
clubs, please visit: https://sites.google.com/a/sduhsd.net/lcc-asb/clubs
Culture
Students congregate in the gym for
pep rallies featuring dance performances, Comedy Sportz
sketches, class competitions, teacher challenges, and the
roaring atmosphere of the MAVNATION. The Maverick
pride culture is contagious.
On The Horizon
is the expansion
of thematic assemblies, promoting community outreach, an
increase in teacher access along with the introduction of a
seven period bell schedule allowing for more class options.
Extended Study Period (ESP) is available after school to all
LCC students Monday through Thursday in the Learning
Commons. Tutoring is available from 2:45 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
and Tuesday nights extend from 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Students are able to receive help in all subjects.

7:40 A.M., the Free Breakfast
program, set up by the 1300s
quad, provides grab-and-go
breakfast goodies like bagels, fruit,
milk and juice. Throughout the rest
of the day, other food choices are
available in the Calf, located across
from the 300s quad, and the two
other cafeterias between the 500s
and 600s quads, and the 700s and
900s quads. Food is available for
purchase before school, at break,
and during lunch.
Positioned in the middle of the school, the
student center is an area where students often hang
out between classes. At lunch, ASB utilizes the stage
to host student interactive games. ASB also uses the
Center to place reminders for upcoming events,
announcing the much anticipated school dance themes
on the stage for students to see, as well as hanging
informative posters on the walls.
