While we may have had our share of ups and downs, we have always prevailed in that which was in the best interest of students. Your dedication to our profession, your day-to-day efforts on behalf of students, your desire to grow, learn, and always improve, have been the qualities that I have so admired and respected. You have contributed enormously to our collective successes. For this, I will be forever thankful. Your support, your willingness to challenge me, and your hard work have made these ten years the best ten years of my career. In my forty-two years in the field of education, I can honestly say that I have never experienced the depth of commitment to high quality education and the high level of collaboration demonstrated between and among so many constituencies. Lexington is indeed an extraordinary school system and there have been many who make it special. . . administrators, faculty, staff, LEA, Town Meeting, Board of Selectmen, School Committee, Appropriations Committee, Capital Expenditures Committee, PTAs, Site Councils, residents, and so many more. In bidding you farewell, please know I take with me many fond memories of our exceptional work. Thank you for your friendship, support, and service to ALL Lexington students. I wish all of you the very best both personally and professionally. We are grateful for the relentless passion and commitment you bring to education . . . always focused on that which is in the best of interest of students and the highest quality of teaching and learning for all. You have challenged us to strive for continuous improvement in all that we do. Your strong voice in advocating for a Professional Learning Program that would advance and enrich the professional lives of all of us is deeply appreciated. As John Hattie has said: ". . . the biggest effect on student learning occurs when teachers become learners of their own teaching. " We believe that you have helped enormously in making that vision Lexington's reality. Carol Pilarski Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, & Professional Learning End-of-Year Celebrations and Activities Reminder – The end of the school year brings a celebratory mood. I'd like to remind everyone that our Life-Threatening Allergy and Wellness Policies require "any parties and celebrations be food free." We have over 400 students carrying EpiPens, and a large number of children with nutritional restrictions. There is a risk involved in providing students food that has not been approved by the school nurse and principal. Please keep our classrooms safe by abiding by the policies.
