1. CALL TO ORDER – 7:00 p.m.

7. NEW BUSINESS: - Composition of Governing Board - Grid - Max # of parents & staff. We can
change if we want. Question: Is 8 parents too many? We like it as is. Status
Quo.

8. TRIPS & FACILITIES: - Sarah Simon: Prom – Monday, June 22nd, Le Living Room. 6pm – Parent
Cocktails. 7:30 on – grads & teachers. Dinner & dance. Ends at 12am. Own
transportation. 100 grads/7 teachers. $130.00/student.
 Shirley Kapitsky: Improv Team, Westmount High School, April 8th, 6-9:30pm. 1/7
ratio. Mr. Clogg parent volunteer. Driving. No cost.
 Shirley Kapitsky: PERMISSION TO PLAN – Grad Europe Trip 2016. Always during
March break + or – a few days before or after. (10 or 12-day trip).
 Lori MacDonald: LB Pearson Resource BBQ, John Rennie HS, May 5th, 10:30am1:30pm, by car. $5-$10. per student. 3 students.

Shirley Kapitsky: Comedy Night held here, May 29th at 7:30pm. 18+ $20.00,

Shirley Kapitsky: Bingo Night – April 2nd, 7-9pm. Adults 18+. Proceeds Athletics.
Shirley Kapitsky: April 27th Fashion Show cancelled.
Shirley Kapitsky: April 21st – Coffee House, 7-9:30pm. Tickets $10. Students
performing. Proceeds to Mac Humanitarian Project.
Shirley Kapitsky: June 5th - End of year Carnival, periods 2-4... games, dunk tank,
bouncy. No charge. Hot dogs & snack table, kids can buy from. Proceeds to
Leadership.
9. REPORTS: -1. Home & School - (Cathy Nitka)
-March 31/15 – H & S will be at Chapters, Pte-Claire for Fundraiser from 4-10 p.m. 20%
of sales will go to H & S in a card.
-H & S will take care of liquor licence for Comedy Nite

3. CPC – (Corinne Cleary)
-Sub-committee for enrollment recommendations – concerned about declining numbers
at English schools.
-English parent committee association
-Asked that school bathrooms be put as priority at schools
-Consultation – Question: What would you like to see included? – Study skills & timemanagement for children, web-based courses, onsite training GB members, raise level
of tech support in schools? (Looking at the possibility of these being available online)

6. Teachers – (Tamara Bush)
- March 13th - Assembly for grade 11 students with John Abbott Theatre students –
Sexual consent workshop. Well done!
- March 19th – Grad Bowling was fun!
- March 20th -- Public Speaking finals -- 5 senior students presented. Special guest
judge was Denise Roberts from CTV Montreal. Kaylen Boudreau was the winner. Very
well done!
- March 22nd – St. Patrick’s Day Parade – 32 students went.
- Europe trip – 12 students went. Trip went very well. Students enjoyed it very much.
- Lori: WOPT – Workshop (Free) - Intro to Sex Ed 101 -- 2 periods. Feedback was very
good. They’re interested in coming back.
7. Principal –
-Thank you to Tracy Zordan and Karen Jones for supervising the Europe trip, fun was
had by all.
-Thank you to the French department for the amazing Franco-fete week. There was a lot
of participation in the lunch time activities.
-Thank you to Mme. Danis and Mrs. Ethier, Mrs. Sicotte, Mrs. Fraser, Mrs.Grenier and
Dr. Randolph for helping prepare the honour roll breakfast. Thank you, also, to Mrs.
Thomson for saying a few inspiring words to the 220 honour roll students.
-Thank you to Andrea Fraser for organizing the grade 11 presentation on sexual consent.
The students were all wonderful participants.
-Thank you to Randy Howarth for the Chinese New Year celebration.
Thank you to Sarah Simon and Lisa Hoffman and Tamara Bush for supervising the grad
bowling.
-The Public Speaking Finals were extremely impressive. Thank you to Tamara Bush,
Sarah Simon, Phil Armstrong and the English Department. Kaylen Boudreau was our
big winner.
-Thank you to Sarah Simon for organizing the St. Patrick’s Day event that the Mac
students participate in. Thank you, also, Swati Sharma, Amanda Maither and Chelsea
Thomson for helping with the breakfast and supervising the students at the St. Patrick’s
parade.
Thank you to Chris Chang and Barb Rich for supervising the students at We day
Upcoming events
-March 29th -31st regional science fair at Concordia
-March 27th is the Fashion Show. Cancelled
-March 30th Chapters fundraiser for home and school 4:00 -10:00
-April 1st is the Battle of the Books competition and WE day in Ottawa
-April 7th and 27th are Ped. Days.
-April 14th is the grade 9 vaccinations
-April 9th, 10th and 11th is the School Play.
-April 17th and 18th is TOPS.
-April 24th – 27th New York trip
-April 27th is Mini Day
-May 7th Multicultural evening
-May 21st and 22nd Dance show
