The Heat Chronicles
On Saturday, April 11th from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Madison
Highland Prep will host a First Families BBQ to celebrate our
school community. Students, parents and families, faculty and
staff, and school community members are welcome to attend
this fun afternoon. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks,
popcorn, cotton candy, and snow cones will be served.
Carnival games will include a Rock Wall, a Full Court Press
basketball game, a Field Goal Kick football game, and a Tap the App super-sized
smart phone game. The Cupcake Walk, a riff on the traditional cake walk but faster
with more chances to win, will provide a one-stop, desert-shop.
A Dunk Tank will be on hand to “Dunk the Teacher” and “Dunk the Principal”.
Tickets are $1 for 3 throws at the teacher and $1 for 1 throw at the principal. The
Booster Club will hold a 50/50 Raffle for $1 for 1 ticket and $5 for 6 tickets to win.
The First Families BBQ is sponsored by the MHP Booster Club. Parents interested
in volunteering for the First Families BBQ should contact Dustin George at

The Heat Chronicles
Message from the Principal
Dear MHP Families:
Our inaugural school year is quickly coming to a close. In these busy final weeks,
Madison Highland Prep students will tackle the AzMERIT exams, update their four-year
ECAPS, and complete their freshmen or sophomore courses. It is exciting to witness the
remarkable growth our students have undertaken this year, as they have matured and
become young scholars, destined for increasing levels of success and commitment to
life-long learning.
Also in the final weeks ahead, MHP’s SeaPerch Robotics team will take part in a regional competition in San
Diego. MHP Softball and Baseball teams will continue to improve and battle several remaining schools before
playoffs. MHP’s Student Council will host an exciting and well planned Spring Prom. Further, MHP students
will showcase their talents through participation in a drama production, STEM Night, Fine Arts Showcase
Night, Band and Choir Music Concert, and Spring Academic and Sports Awards Banquets.
On Saturday, April 11th I hope you and your family will join MHP’s students and faculty in a First Families BBQ
event. We are delighted to host this celebration in honor of the first families and students who chose MHP as
their destination high school. On behalf of the entire MHP education team, it has been a privilege to serve you
and your students this year and we look forward to continuing this journey and helping our students achieve
their dreams and secure a bright and prosperous future.
Yours truly,
Dr. Kerry Clark
Principal

Testing for students in the above courses will begin at 8:00 am. Test
administration will take place from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Get a good night’s sleep before the test.

Eat a healthy breakfast before leaving
home. Your brain needs quality fuel.

Get to school on time. Running late causes
more stress.

Relax, this is not a good day to ask your
parents for a new puppy.

Bring something to read when you are
finished with a section of the test.

Don’t forget a bottle of water and your
calculator for Mathematics testing.

Take your time. There are no bonus points
for finishing first. Some students work
quickly, others are more deliberate. You
will have until the end of the school day
to finish the test.

Use your test prep strategies learned in
your English, Mathematics, and Science
courses. They will increase your test
results.
