The question of to charge or not to charge for membership was discussed.
Wild Apricot is the system used to manage the MHTC member database.
Currently there are two databases that need to be reconciled:
■ MailChimp - approximately 700 members
■ Wild Apricot - approximately 500 members
○ Anthony Nykos suggested changing the membership for everyone to start on 1 day a year,
instead of it being whenever the member signed up. This would make it easier to manage
membership.
○ The trustees discussed making the MHTC a 501(c)(3) organization, so members can write
off membership fees on their taxes.
■ Bernie King offered to start the required forms to file and will bring them to the next
meeting.
○ Lara Gates offered to bring the membership summary to the next meeting and someone
else will take of the responsibility to manage membership.
