Greetings from The Madras Medical Mission!
Know about us
The MMM College of Health Sciences today
stands as one of the bench mark organization for conduct
of Allied Health Science programmes. The college trains
and develops knowledgeable individuals with core values
of sincerity and compassionate concern for the sick and
suffering; practical orientation and skills for creativity
and promptness. Affiliated with The TN.Dr.M.G.R Medical University we now have six undergraduate programmes and four postgraduate programmes. Under the
flagship of MMM Academy of Medical Sciences, The
Madras Medical Mission continues its 20-year collaboration with BITS pilani for its pioneering programs in India
with B.S Physician Assistant programs. These
“MMMites” are setting standards in our country for the
cadre of Physician Assistants as important second line
health care professionals to assists the medical professionals in hospitals. The MMM Academy of Medical
Sciences is an authorized learning centre of Sikkim Manipal University to reach out to the working health sectors professionals in our country

Laboratory Sciences, MMM CHS is organizing a State
Level One Day Conference “Health and Environment”
on 18th April 2015, at MMM, Chennai.
About the conference
The environment in which we live greatly influences our health. Physical, chemical as well as biological
factors in the environment can have an impact on our
health. Hence, our health is considerable extent determined by the environmental quality. Human beings are
exposed to a variety of factors including industrial chemicals, pesticides, air pollutants, natural and man-made
toxicants, and bio-medical wastes etc. These factors can
affect individuals and even their progeny from serious
health ailments. Each of the effects is associated with a
variety of aspects of economic and social development.
WHO estimates that 24 percent of the global disease burden and 23 percent of all deaths can be attributed to environmental factors, which can be prevented through environmental modification such as through the provision of
safe water, improved sanitation, and adequate hygiene.
CONFERENCE PROGRAMME
Objectives of the Conference:-
 This seminar aim to create an academic environment
of inquiry and dialogue in which experts and students
from various academic disciplines who share a common interest in the environment and health can exchange ideas, information, insights and questions.
 This seminar also provide opportunities to students
of life sciences and health sciences to explore linkages between environmental factors and health issues
and to understand research methods and concepts in
emerging health issues.
Who can attend:
Faculty, Research scholars and students from Allied
Health Sciences/ Paramedical Colleges, Arts & Science
Colleges, Nursing Colleges, Medical Colleges, Scholars
and Students from University, Colleges of the Tamil Nadu focusing in Department of Laboratory Sciences such
as Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology etc all are
invited to participate.

Papers are invited from UG/PG students, academicians,
dieticians, research scholars, and faculty members on the
original research work. All presentations must

Title, objectives, methods and results. Abstracts should
not be more than 250 words and should reach before 15 h
April 2015. Poster size 4ft x 3ft. Participation in poster
can be as individual or in group of two members. The
last date for registration for poster presentation is 15 th
April 2015.
