 CHARACTER COUNTS QUOTE: The Character Counts Quote of the day is dedicated to all the Hawks taking the
CAHSEE tomorrow and Wednesday. This month's pillar is RESPONSIBILITY. What better way to show this pillar than
to PASS THAT CAHSEE exam! Take your time, have faith in yourself and all of your hard work you and your teachers
have done. BONUS: IF you pass it, next year you will get your own VAY -CAHSEE-UHN - 2 days off while the others
take it! Good luck, Hawks!
 REMINDER STUDENTS: Tomorrow and Wednesday is CAHSEE Testing. Only sophomores or juniors and
seniors who have not passed CAHSEE will be attending school Tuesday & Wednesday!
 ATTENTIONS All student who are going to be taking CAHSEE tomorrow: Please report to the gym, by 7:45 a.m. to
pick up a class schedule for CAHSEE. If you have any questions regarding the exam or your schedule, see Mrs. Tello
 ATTENTION JUNIORS! We will be having a meeting during lunch on Monday, March 16th to discuss prom.
 YOUNG WRITERS WINNERS: TURN in your signed field trip and teacher permission slips to Mrs. Jones or Mr. Usher
by THIS FRIDAY(3/20)
 NO CSF MEETING this Wednesday due to the CAHSEE or next week due to YOUNG WRITERS CONF. See you
on WED, April 8th!
 MISSION OAK’S annual dodge ball tournament is coming up!!! Put a team together and grab an application from
the counseling office. ALL applications are due Wednesday, March 27th .The games will be held at lunch during
the weeks of April 9-17th. The winners will play the teachers at the spring rally!!
 STUDENTS GEARING UP FOR THE RETAIL MERCHANDISING class for next year, the student store applications
are due today. Pick up an application with your counselor or at the Counseling window. Complete your resume and
recommendation forms, submit to Mrs. Cardoza, Rm 501. Swing by and set up your job interview to be considered
for the class.
 THE FFA MEETING to award Greenhand and Chapter degree ceremonies will be held on Thursday, March 19 at
6pm in the Tulare Western High School Cafeteria.
 THE RIVALRY RUN is coming September 19th! The Tulare Joint Union High School District Foundation
wants your help to create a poster to advertise our 3rd Annual Rivalry Run. See any Art or Graphic Art Teacher for a
copy of the Poster Contest entry form. There will also be forms available in the office. Winning entries from two
categories will each get $50! Entries are due to the District Office by May 15th.

MESSAGE FROM THE DISTRICT OFFICE: The end of the school year is rapidly approaching. We will be accepting NO
“out of state” purchase requests after April 1, 2015, and no purchase requests of any kind after May 1, 2015. Please plan
ahead for your purchases now so as to avoid the last minute rush. If you have an emergency need after these dates, you
will need an approval from the Superintendent. The school principal must present such requests. Your cooperation is very
much appreciated.
AS THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR APPROACHES the number of checks returned for non-sufficient funds grows
exponentially. As a result, the following procedure must be used for money collection at the end of the year: AFTER MAY
1, 2015, ALL MONEY COLLECTED (INCLUDING LUNCH PAYMENTS AND ASB FUNDRAISERS) MUST BE IN THE
FORM OF CASH OR MONEY ORDER. NO CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
