 CONGRATULATIONS TO Ellie Jolly and Andrew Sousa who are part of the FFA Ag Issues Forum Team, for winning
the State Championship this weekend at Cal Poly! Next, they will be competing at the National FFA Convention in
October.
 TODAY IS CINCO DE MAYO! Come on out to Hawks Landing during lunch today to enjoy the music, dancing, and
Mission Oak's first ever Mariachi Grito Contest! Viva los Halcones!
 MISSION MADNESS ANNOUNCEMENT: “WHATS UP” Mission oak? The school year is almost UP, and Mission
madness is right around the corner. Start getting your team together. So, grab an application from counseling to
have one last HOORAHHH. DUE MAY 8TH.
 THE MISSION OAK TALON is publishing a throw-back page. If you're an upperclassmen and have memorable photos
from your underclassmen years, send them to our Twitter account, @ MissionOakTalon.
 SOPHOMORES/JUNIORS: Are you interested in working in the office next school year as a paid employee? If
so, please stop by the Counseling Nest and pick up an application and return to Mrs. Gomes by Friday, May
22nd. Must have excellent attendance, no discipline, and a minimum GPA of 2.5.
 ATTENTION JUNIORS AND SENIORS! Prom tickets are now on sale! It is $50 for a couple and $25 for single. Head
on over to hawk's landing and buy you tickets for a night of fun!
 JUNIORS & SENIORS: If you are taking a date to Prom that does not go to a Tulare Joint Union High School, you will
need to fill out a dance bid in the AP's office with Ms. Najera.
 SENIORS: All seniors are invited and encouraged to attend a Catholic mass in your honor at St. Aloysius Catholic
Church, at 125 E. Pleasant St. in Tulare, on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 11:15 a.m. Please gather in front of the
church by 10:50 a.m. wearing your cap and gown.
 SENIORS: VERY IMPORTANT!! If you have received a scholarship that you would like announced at
Scholarship night, May 19, 2015, please fill out a form in the career center and give it to Mrs. Aguilar by
Wednesday May 6, 2015.
 GIRLS’ SOCCER PATCHES ARE IN: You can pick them up at switchboard.
 GIRLS AND BOYS SENIOR TENNIS PLAYERS: Consider applying for the tennis scholarship, officially called the
Chapman/Ocampo Scholarship. Check Naviance or see Coach Jones for details. The deadline is May 12.
 THE RIVALRY RUN is coming September 19th! The Tulare Joint Union High School District Foundation
wants your help to create a poster to advertise our 3rd Annual Rivalry Run. See any Art or Graphic Art Teacher for a
copy of the Poster Contest entry form. There will also be forms available in the office. Winning entries from two
categories will each get $50! Entries are due to the District Office by May 15th.
