Format
The 2015 New Mexico Enduro Cup will consist of eight race days across six events: the season opening Coyote
Howler in El Paso, a first time race in Glorieta, then a two day event in Angel Fire (OSO High backcountry and
bike park), the Sandia Peak Bomber, a two day Rock ‘n Roll Endurofest in Los Alamos (backcountry and bike
park), and the 2015 NM Enduro Cup Championships in Angel Fire to wrap up the series. Each race day
includes two to five timed special stages. Each special stage is run as an individual time trial format. There are
untimed transition stages (liason stages) that may require pedaling to the next stage, taking a chair lift, or
catching a shuttle. The racer with the overall fastest (lowest) combined time of all special stages on that race
day will win and earn the most NMEC points for that race day.
NM Enduro Cup Stage, Race, and Series scoring format
GC/Time based scoring will be used for simplicity and efficiency sake in determining daily results. Each stage
will be timed and the total combined time of all stages that race day will determine daily results; the fastest rider
of all combined stages wins that race day. There are no dropped times for any stage, although a stage DNF will
be timed as the same time as the last place rider in that category plus 1 minute added on. A DNS (Did Not Start)
will be scored same as a DNF. We will use a racer’s cumulative points for all events to determine overall
placement in series standings. There are no dropped races – participation at all races is encouraged! In the event
of a tie in total points, the higher placed rider at the NMEC Championships in Angel Fire will win the tie-break.
Racers must race at least 5 Race days to be in contention for the overall series.
Categories
Pro/Open Men and Pro/Open Women
* Bonus stage(s) for Pro Open will be more technical and challenging.
Amateur Men 19-29 and Amateur Men 30-39
Amateur Women 19-29 and Amateur Women 30-39
Masters Men 40 + and Masters Women 40+
Boys (12 and under), Junior Men 13-18 (Open to all category racers) *Boys and Jrs can race w older group.
Girls (12 and under), Junior Women 14-18 (Open to all category racers) *Girls and Jrs can race w older group
**You are encouraged to race the entire NMEC in one category. If you change categories you will only be
scored in one category per event. Age category is your “racing age” – age on 12/31 of that year.
Equipment Rules
The beauty of enduro racing is that it brings us all back to the roots
of mountain biking. It is largely ungoverned, unregulated, and each
event capitalizes on what it has to offer naturally. We want to keep
it that way. That said we feel it is in the best interest and safety of
all of our competitors to have a few rules in place to make sure
competition is fair, friendly, and eliminate as much gray area as
possible.
Riders must wear helmets at all times. You are encouraged to wear additional protection for your own safety.
Good sportsmanship is a must, and if you get caught by another rider and they call out “Track” you should pull
over and let them pass as soon as safely possible.
Athletes are must choose a single bike for each event* that they hope, will give them the advantage in all
stages of that race/event.
*The frame AND suspension kit must remain the same throughout the individual race/event. Any frame or
suspension equipment failure on-course is required to be brought to the Race Director’s attention for repair
approval before any repair is made. There is time between stages for this.
Riders must obey all event instructions. This includes pedaling the “ride transition/liason” stages as directed.
There are no supported Technical Repair Zones on course. Riders are encouraged to be self-sufficient on course
or in the parking area for their own repairs but riders can accept outside assistance. It is all pretty simple; if you

NM Enduro Cup Prizes
The 2015 New Mexico Enduro Cup will award over $8000 in cash and/or prizes throughout the series.
There will be overall championship prizes to the top three racers in each category at the end of each event and at
the end of the series. Amounts will be determined by the amount of sponsorship and race revenue generated.
Each sponsor and event will contribute to the financial well-being of the NM Enduro Cup so that it can improve
and grow for years to come. Race hard and win a NM Enduro Cup Champions Jersey!
Big Mountain Enduro

The 2015 Big Mountain Enduro Series is designed to gather the nations’s best Enduro Racers and have them
compete in the Colorado/Southwest region. Their events are very progressive and challenging; we encourage
NMEC racers to compete against the region’s best at these events.
North American Enduro Tour & Enduro World Series

The 2015 North American Enduro Tour (N.A.E.T.) is designed to gather athletes at many of the continent's best
race venues for the rapidly growing mountain bike discipline of Enduro racing. NAET, now in its fifth year, has
created a multi-stop tour that will showcase the best athletes in the world, while maintaining a ranking structure
highlighting this ever-growing mountain bike discipline. Most of these races emerge in and around world-class
bike parks throughout North America, while also utilizing each region’s best single-track trails that are tucked
deep in the backcountry. NAET also strives to provide the best experience possible for junior and amateur
athletes in hopes of increasing the talent pool of North American all-mountain riders and supporting bike
industry brands with similar ethos.
