The finishing touch for dessert is a Canyon's Signature: the very refreshing and palette-pleasing Lemoncello Tart with
Fruit Coulis
To accompany the meal, there will be a self-serve beverage bar stocked with iced tea, freshly brewed coffee and a
selection of hot teas.

Image Reborn, one of the top 100 Great
Health non-profits in the country, will give us
information about the organization. Judy Brophy, a
Board member and cancer survivor, and Debbie
Hoffmeyer, the Foundation Treasurer, will be the
speakers.
Utah Audiology and Hearing
Dr. Leanne Norman is the only private practice Doctor of
Audiology in Summit and Wasatch counties Dr. Norman

specializes in comprehensive hearing services,
amplification, tinnitus, and hearing conservation. She has
extensive knowledge in not only hearing but also
practical applications.
The mission is to provide no-cost healing retreats to
women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The focus is to encourage women to reclaim their
sense of personal power and to strengthen them in
their journey toward healing on all levels and living
fully.

Kudos to October’s Last Minute Speaker
Jennifer Jackenthal, Program Director for the new Park
City School District Center for Advanced Professional
Studies (PCCAPS) program at Park City High School,
graciously stepped in at the last minute for the
scheduled speaker from Image Reborn who became ill.
PCCAPS provides challenging Park City High School
courses with real-world professional learning classes
for credit that take place off-campus during regular
school hours. Collaborating with business
professionals as clients, mentors, speakers or
instructors, the students get an opportunity to explore
career interests and understand the business culture
they will experience after graduation. For businesses,
exposing students to real-world challenges and
creating relationships with Park City High School
juniors and seniors gives them an edge in hiring
experienced PCCAPS students as interns or
permanently after graduation from high school or
college. For more information about PCCAPS, see
caps.pcschools.us or contact Jennifer Jackenthal at
[email protected].

Snowshoe and Cross Country
Kathy Becker is a new member of Newcomer's and has agreed to coordinate snowshoe and cross-country outings for
us this winter season. She wants to have regular outings, but needs others to help lead, or co-lead them. It's not
necessary that you have prior experience as a trip leader, and it is fine if you only want to do easy trips. Kathy is an
experienced trip leader and will provide instructions. She wants to offer a range of easy, moderate, and more
advanced outings this season. If snow conditions aren't good, some outings will happen anyway using boots with
Yaktrax. One of the outings we want to do is a cross-country lesson for Newcomer's at White Pine Touring. This just
needs an organizer.
So, now's the time to make sure we can have fun in the snow by emailing Kathy at [email protected]. Please
join her email list to learn about trips, but know that she will encourage everyone to help.
Snowshoe/Yaktrax/Hike Trip
When: Saturday, November 23
Time: 10:30 am
Where: Rob’s Trail
Meet at Wasatch Bagels to carpool
RSVP: Kathy Becker ([email protected] or 435-714-9578)
Join us for a snowshoe/Yaktrax/hike trip on Rob's Trail--depending on conditions. Kathy Becker will provide an update
by email to people who RSVP. Meet at the parking lot by Wasatch Bagels at 10:30 am to carpool to the trailhead up
Bear Hollow Drive. Dress for the weather -- warm boots. Bring poles if there is snow. The trip is 3 miles round trip and
will take about 2 hours, plus travel time. There is an 800-foot elevation gain. Bring a lunch to eat. This is an easy to
moderate trip depending on the trail conditions and how fast people go. Fast people can spend more time at the top.
Please RSVP to Kathy Becker ([email protected] or 435-714-9578)
HIKING
Winter is approaching so hiking is over for the year. We had a great turnout with lots of new faces every week.
Thanks to all those folks who volunteered to lead a hike this season and introduced us to some beautiful new trails.
Enjoy the winter and hope to see you next spring! June Krigman ([email protected] or 617-921-9499)

Niños on Skis Program needs Sponsors and Amigos for the 2013-2014 Season
Remember the first time you learned something new at school? Do you remember the teacher who really made a
difference? Or, think back to a coach who might have helped you reach a goal or learn a new skill. In your lifetime, was
there someone special who took the time to reach out and show that he/she cares?
Each year the Ninos on Skis Program gets bigger and better because of the wonderful Sponsors from the Park City
Community. If you are interested in learning more about how to become a Sponsor or an Amigo for the Niños on Skis
Program, call Aimee Cunniff at 801-261-3440 ext. 143 or send an email to [email protected].
A few notes about becoming a Sponsor:
-- Speaking Spanish is not required to be a Sponsor. The Niños speak English, as do others in their home.
-- Having a ski pass at Park City Mountain Resort is required.
-- Once ski lessons are completed in December, Sponsors are encouraged to bring their Niños skiing throughout the
rest of the season. We ski as a group one Saturday during January, February, and March.
In addition to seeking Sponsors for this winter, the Niños on Skis Program is looking for High School students to serve
as Amigos to their Hispanic Classmates (Jovenes) who are in the Program. A few notes about becoming an Amigo:
-- Having a ski pass at Park City Mountain Resort is required.
-- Must commit to ski with Jovenes during the morning of five group days during December, January, February, and
March.
