Haitian-Creole Class Information
Monday evenings, January 26th – March 16th, 2015
6:00pm – 8:00 pm COURSE INFORMATION
This 8-week intensive spoken Haitian-Creole course is designed for students with very minimal
to no previous background in the language. Attendees will acquire the most basic knowledge,
grammar, vocabulary, syntax, and skill of the language so they can conduct basic conversations
in formal and informal settings on a variety of topics.
Proficiency in the Haitian-Creole language will be contingent upon the learners’ interest and
ambition. Practical daily topics (i.e., introduction, obtaining information, asking for direction
and time, shopping, speaking of the Haitian culture and food, etc.) will be learned with plenty of
in-class drills and practice. The practical goal of this course is to enable learners to apply the
knowledge and skill they learn in class to the actual cultural and social situations.
WHERE:
Nashville First Church of the Nazarene, room 207 in the Greathouse building.
The best entrance will be from the South parking lot (Russell Street).

Monday evenings, 6:00 – 8:00 pm, January 26th – March 16th, 2015
MATERIAL: Please purchase the book Creole Made Easy Translation Dictionary by Wally
Turnbull prior to class. Lesson plans will be provided for you.
