Program Description:
The Develop a Diamond Academy (DADA) is a National Netball Australia program that
forms part of Netball Northern Territories player pathway. The program is specifically
aimed at players ranging from 13-16 years old. DADA aims to provide the highest quality
training experience appropriate to the athlete’s physical, cognitive and social
development focusing on three core components:



Technical and tactical development
Physical preparation
Athlete wellbeing and education
The dates of this program have been specifically chosen to enable sufficient expert
training to prepare the athletes for the 2016 U17 National selections.

Alice Springs Selections

Sunday 24th May @ St Phillips
Katherine Selections

Darwin, Alice Springs & Katherine
Dates: The Darwin, Alice Springs and Katherine Programs will be Commencing after
selections through to the end of November 2015, Trainings will be once per week until
September. Athletes will have a break in September due to local netball finals and NT
Link and will resume training in October. From October through to the end of November
athletes will be expected to train twice per week.

Darwin: Sessions will be Fridays 4-5.30pm @ MIS until September and Monday and
Fridays 4-5.30pm in October and November @ MIS

Roles and Responsibilities





Develop and implement a holistic program plan that focuses on individual athlete development
Design and deliver a training program aligned to Netball Australia’s daily training environment including
group and individual sessions
Monitor athletes training load and performance and provide appropriate plans and feedback to facilitate
performance improvement of all squad members
Liaise with Netball Northern Territory to ensure all requirements of the program are fulfilled
Keep an attendance sheet
Experience/Qualifications
DADA Head Coach’s must hold a current Netball Australia Advanced Coaching Accreditation or are working
towards it.
Selection Criteria

Current Netball NT Registration

Minimum of Netball Australia Advanced Coaching Accreditation (or working towards it)

Current Ochre Card (Working with Children Check)

Ability to meet trainings, attendance and reporting
