in pursuit of her Doctorate in Christian Education (Holistic & Urban Development).
Personal Cleopatra has been a resident of Brownsville for over 40 years, having experiences as a public school
Statement parent. Cleopatra’s advocacy for education began at Brownsville Heritage House After School
Program. She saw firsthand the hardships that many of the children faced—particularly those who lack
the necessary educational supplies to complete their homework; and those performed below grade
level. As the Program Director; she dedicated to providing resources and tools needed for parents and
teachers to offer a quality education for all students. Witnessing the need for active involvement, she
became a member of CSB 23. She worked studiously with her colleagues and superintendent to create
policies and best educational practice to improve academic performance; reduce classroom sizes, and
evaluated the district’s educational program. With the support of her colleagues and the
superintendent, Cleopatra ensured that I.S. 392 became the first Gifted & Talented JHS in Brownsville.
Cleopatra's love and compassion for children and families has inspired and motivated her to continue
to work diligently ensuring that our children receive their fair share of educational resources.
