Administrative Services Coordinator
Position Description
The Orange County Rape Crisis Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit agency. We have served the Chapel Hill,
Carrboro, Hillsborough, and surrounding communities since 1974. We provide 24-hour crisis
intervention services to survivors of sexual violence, their loved ones, and professionals. Our services
include our 24-Hour Help Line, support groups, workshops, and therapy referrals. Additionally, the
Center offers educational programs for both raising awareness about sexual violence and teaching
prevention skills.
Our mission is to stop sexual violence and its impact through support, education, and advocacy. We
envision a just and equitable world free of sexual violence and all other forms of oppression. Our values

This position is temporary with the option to continue and is considered a full-time exempt position in
accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide assistance to the Executive Director and the Development & Marketing Director (DMD),
including office management, development tasks, photocopying, organizing materials and mailings,
filing, and other tasks as needed.
2. Serve as the primary administrative coordinator for the Center's business office.
 Answer business phone lines and provide office coverage during regular business hours.
 Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and interns who provide administrative assistance.
 Process incoming and outgoing office mail.
 Work with other staff to coordinate and complete the Center's printing and copying needs.
 Regularly monitor and purchase office supplies.
 Coordinate and maintain office calendar and scheduling of meetings and other events.
 Manage relationships with vendors that service the Center’s business office needs.
3. Provide staff support and assistance in the coordination of development events and projects.
 Provide administrative and logistical support for the Annual Holiday Auction, Cupcakes &
Cocktails, Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and other special events, including securing,
tracking, and acknowledging donations; organizing volunteers; preparing and distributing
materials; attending meetings and events; and other tasks as needed.
 Work with the DMD to maintain the Center’s donor database, run reports, and coordinate
mailings.
 Work with the DMD and other staff to acknowledge donor and volunteer contributions to
agency.
 Ensure that financial receipts are promptly deposited and well-documented.
 Work with the DMD on communications tasks, such as preparing e-mail newsletters, blog and
website material, and other tasks as needed.

4. Work as a team member with other staff and volunteers, including assistance with volunteer training,
client matters, and community outreach as necessary.
5. Coordinate general office maintenance and information technology.
 Accomplish simple office maintenance tasks.
 Serve as primary contact for contractors providing building maintenance.
 Serve as primary contact for contractors providing technology support.
 Maintain office network, computers, and technological equipment, including server data back-up
and troubleshooting when problems arise.
6. Act as the primary contact and coordinator for community tabling requests and other outreach efforts.
7. Maintain appropriate standards of confidentiality.
8. Complete all relevant trainings and other tasks as required by supervisor.
Qualifications Required:
1. High School Diploma
2. Office Manager/administrative support experience
3. Demonstrated effectiveness with computer and information technology including word processing,
database management, e-mail and Internet
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills
5. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills
6. Comfort working with issues and survivors of sexual violence
7. Experience communicating with people from diverse backgrounds
8. Demonstration of cultural awareness, sensitivity, and competency

Responsible to: The Development & Marketing Director of the Orange County Rape Crisis Center
Benefits Available: Health, life, and dental insurance; retirement investment plan.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am and 5:00pm. Some evening and weekend hours required.
Salary: $13.00-$16.50 per hour
