1. About us: FPT University
FPT University was established in 2006, as part of FPT Corporation - the pioneer in area of
Information Technology and Communication in Viet Nam with 19,000 staffs (2014) and branches
in different countries such as: US, Japan, France, Singapore, etc.
FPT University has received the Award for the best ICT Training in Viet Nam consistently from
2008 up to now. It is currently the only university in Viet Nam that achieved 5 - stars in terms of
teaching according to QS World University Rating System.

2. Courses for exchange students
Exchange students have access to all courses offered in English (both Engineering and
Business). Early applications are advised as there is a limited number of places available for each
course.
The course on Vietnamese language and culture is offered with a fee of US$50/ pax for all
exchange students.
Other special courses (soft skills, international internship, etc.) can be also offered at students’
need with additional fee (while tuition fee for the main course of exchange students is waived).
3. Academic calendar
FPT University has three semesters per year: Spring (January - April), Summer (May - August)
and Fall (September - December).
It is acceptable to start the exchange program at any of the above semester.
4. Eligibility
Students from partner universities should be nominated by home universities. Other students may
send application directly to the International Mobility Department, FPT University for approval.
Students should complete at least one year of full time study at the home university, have good
academic performance records and have the English language proficiency equivalent to TOEFL
550 (Paper based total)/ 80 (Internet based total)/ 213 (Computer based total) or IELTS 6.0.
5. Application procedure

Note: Form 1 and form 2 can be found in the appendix.
The health and accident insurance is a compulsory requirement for all exchange students. FPT
University will not be responsible for expenditure derived from the student illnesses or accidents.
All the application documents must be sent by post or scanned and email to the International
Mobility Department, FPT University (email: [email protected]) by the deadline stated above.
6. Services and support for exchange students
6.1. Pre-arrival support and welcome
Our services start before you even get here. We offer:



Orientation program on arrival
FPT International Mobility Department will send you the Pre-departure guide before you arrive in
Viet Nam in order to provide you some brief information about the life in Viet Nam and FPT as
well as to help you have the best preparation for your arrival.
Airport pick up service is US$40/way/student for all exchange students on their first coming to
Viet Nam. Our staff and (or) volunteer students will be at the airport to pick you up to the campus
dormitory.
Your first week will be very busy and exciting as you will explore your new home. FPT
International Mobility Department will organize the orientation programs for all new international
students to introduce you about your course, help you find your way around, settle and make
friends.
6.2. Visa application
While students must complete any visa fee on their own, FPT provides support in documentations
that students need in order to obtain approval from Immigration authority.

6.3. Student activities
With the purpose of creating a friendly and dynamic environment for students, FPT University
invests such an amount in student activities. There are about twenty clubs at the university where
students can make friends, gain experience and show their talents.
Exchange students are also encouraged to participate in the culture exchange activities with
Vietnamese students as well as other exchange students from all over the World. We are
currently running Hanoi City Tour for international and local students every semester, with a price
of US$40/student, in order help students improve their network. Any constructive ideas from
students are welcomed and strongly supported.
6.4. Accommodation, food and other services
It is available for all exchange students to stay inside the campus at our dormitories with a fee of
US$150/month/student, on the basis of 03 students sharing 01 room, with unlimited electricity,
water and internet usage. Wifi is available 24 hours per day inside the campus. However, it is
acceptable for students to stay outside the campus (home stay, renting apartment) if students
wish and under FPT’s acceptance and arrangement.
The food is served at the university’s canteen with sponsored price. Students can also have a lot
of different choices for eating in the off-campus surrounding area, or in the center of Hanoi.
