This special day was first kept in Poland and then, by a decree dated 23rd May 2000, it was extended to the universal Church. Chaplet of Divine Mercy (for private recitation on ordinary rosary beads) Our Father …Hail Mary…The Apostles Creed, then on the Our Father beads you say the following words: Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. On the Hail Mary beads you say the following words: For the sake of His sorrowful Passion have mercy on us and on the whole world. In conclusion, you recite these words THREE TIMES: Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world. There will be an Hour of Mercy at Our Lady of Fatima Church, from 2.30 pm – 3.30 pm, which will be followed by the Recommissioning of Eucharistic Ministers and Readers. All welcome. SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER ENTRANCE ANTIPHON Like newborn children you should thirst for milk, on which your spirit can grow to strength, Alleluia! First Reading: from the Acts of the Apostles (Acts 4:32-35) RESPONSORIAL PSALM 117 Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, for his love has no end. 2nd Reading: from the first letter of St. John (1 John 5:1-6) GOSPEL ACCLAMATION Alleluia, alleluia! Jesus said: “You believe because you can see me. Happy are those who have not seen and yet believe.” Alleluia! GOSPEL: John 20:19-31 COMMUNION ANTIPHON Jesus spoke to Thomas: Put your hand here, and see the place of the nail. Doubt no longer, but believe, alleluia. FIRST COMMUNION 2015 The children’s preparation resumes tomorrow at 5.30 pm in Our Lady of Fatima chapel with the theme: `We Share the Bread of Life’ The 11.00 am Mass next Sunday will be a special Group Mass with the children and their families. Please continue to pray for them We all have moments of doubts and uncertainties in our daily decisions. Religious belief is no different. It is not as simple as "we believe, or we do not believe". Our Faith is, rather, a leap into the unknown that we must renew frequently as the implications of Christian commitment continue to unfold for us. Acts 4:32-35 The implications of their commitment to Christ soon became apparent to the early Christian communities - dynamic testimony by the Apostles plus deep seated community awareness by the disciples exemplified by their generosity. 1 John 5:1-6 John sets himself to counter a tendency by some to who wanted to discount the Crucifixion because, for them, it was a scandal, and to concentrate only on the glory of the Resurrection. John makes it clear that you can't have one without the other. Christian faith combines both suffering and good times. John 20: 19-31 Today's central figure, Thomas, was up against this problem of uncertainty - to believe or not to believe. His reservations, however, were overcome by Christ's invitation to carry out the tests that he had decided on - to touch the wounds.
