He will unveil the Shrine of Divine Mercy which is for us now a center of devotion and prayer asking for the Mercy of God to be ever-present in our lives as we journey from one day to the next. A short understanding of this powerful devotion tells of Sr. Maria Faustina, who in 1935 the Lord Jesus revealed a powerful prayer that He wants everyone to say - The Chaplet of Divine Mercy. He promised extraordinary grace to those who recite it: “…..I desire to grant unimaginable graces to those who trust in My mercy…” (Diary 687) “through this chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you ask for is compatible with My will”. (Dairy 1731). This devotion has become an international prayer translated in every country and language and is widespread among the young especially. It is our hope that our shrine will lead us to form groups of prayer in our parish and that this devotion will spread by example and word of mouth throughout our neighborhood and community. We will provide bookmarkers with prayers for Divine Mercy recited on rosary beads each time the devotion is prayed. Fr. Anthony J. Sansone ***** A special THANK YOU to all the families who participated in our LENTEN PASSING OF THE CROSS with the intention of praying for FAMILIES, AND MORE VOCATIONS during the Lenten Season. ***** Just a reminder: BUS TRIP to Westchester Broadway Theatre for Sunday, April 19th - BUS WILL LEAVE FROM IN FRONT OF THE CHURCH AT 3:30 P.M. SHARP. Page 4 EASTER - 2015 @ OLMM From the collage of photos printed in this week’s bulletin, which sometimes speak louder than words; I think we can all say that Holy Week and Easter Sunday were memorable moments of devotion and celebration which can be remembered for many months to come. It was a wonderful collaboration of many people who form the core of our parish and who generously give of their time and energy throughout the course of the year, but especially when it comes to moments like these. We who are the worshiping community, and beneficiaries of these wonderful events recalling to mind our identity as Catholic Christians. I am especially proud of the young people who form our Young Adult group and give of their time and presence in our church. They are our future and the future of this parish. I know that I speak for the priests and deacons of our house, when I say God’s Blessings on each and every one of you and Happy Easter! 2015 ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL (CONTINUED) Envelopes are available (English, Italian and Polish) in the bookracks today. Please fill out a pledge envelope and return it with your gift or pledge. May God continue to bless each of your efforts to help make this parish great! RELIGIOUS EDUCATION OFFICE THANK YOU TO ALL THE PARISH YOUTH WHO SHARED THE LIVING STATIONS OF THE CROSS WITH HOLY WEEK, AND THEIR PARENTS FOR THEIR CONSTANT SUPPORT! THE PARISHIONERS DURING Rev. Anthony J. Sansone 2015 ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL The 2015 Annual Catholic Appeal has begun. It is not important how much you give, but - that you give. This helps to widen our collaborative base as to the number of parishioners who participate and act responsibly on behalf of the parish in this contribution. The more people participate, the more it becomes a demonstration of the viability of Miraculous Medal as being alive and filled with a sense of participation and not isolation.. Our parish goal this year is $50,000. As you know every time we exceed this goal, the difference comes back into the parish. In this way, you also make a contribution to our parish. This helps greatly since our Sunday collections are not meeting the cost of the parish bills. Since every little bit helps, I ask you to consider the appeal. ***** FAMILY MASS this weekend with a FIRST SACRAMENT FAMILY SESSION (FIRST COMMUNION) immediately following for all parents in the John Paul II Center (use Bleecker St. door).
