Tel: 022-2206 9413 / Fax 2206 2989 [email protected] www.pibmumbai.gov.in UTSAV - A Festival of New Creative Films by Films Division Mumbai, May 15, 2015 Sixteen new creative documentary and animation films, widely acclaimed in festival circuits, winners of National and international awards and produced by Films Division of India will be screened at the Re-Recording Theatre of Films Division, Pedder Road, Mumbai from May 16 to 17, 2015. Aptly titled UTSAV, the festival of best films produced in the last two years by Films Division, the torch bearer of documentary film movement in India, also highlights the new way independent films are commissioned by the FD. Through a transparent and effective pitching process, Films Division has been able to commission and produce some of the finest Indian documentary films in recent years. The films that are showcased in the two-day festival are: Rangbhoomi by Kamal Swaroop, The Last Adieu by Shabnam Sukhdev, Tender Is The Sight by Torsha Banerjee, A Poet, A City And A Footballer by Joshy Joseph, Silent Voices by Preeta Chakraborty, Super Stars Of Koti by Farha Alah and Anju Adlakha, Phum Shang (My Home) by Hoabam Paban Kumar, Chimukali by Sonal Thakur, Chakravyuh by Dhvani Desai, Aamar Katha: Story of Binodini by Tuhinabha Majumdar, Even Red Can Be Sad by Amit Dutta, Kapila by Sanju Surendran, Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum by Pankaj Butalia, Khayyam Ki Sangeet Yatra by Suresh Sharma, Ananthamurty, Not a Biography; But A Hypothesis by Girish Kasaravalli and My Grandpa’s Home by Alexander Leopou. The UTSAV screening starts at 11.00 am and will continue till 9.45 pm with two breaks. The Directors will introduce their films followed by a Q&A session after the screening.
