Day: 1 & 2
In transit New Zealand for Buenos Aires
Day3: (L, D)
Arrive in Buenos Aires. To give us time to gather our thoughts we will begin with a quick bite to eat
and an overview of the city, time to sit back and recover from our flight, and be in awe with the
beautiful city of Buenos Aires
Day 4: (B, L) City Tour
Full day city tour, where we will visit Palermo, which is the largest
neighbourhood in Buenos Aires. Here we will visit the Botanical Gardens
(known as the “green lung” of Buenos Aires). The gardens were declared
a national monument in 1996, and hold approximately 5500 species of
plants, shrubs and trees, along with a number of sculptures. From here
we will go to visit the grave of Eva Peron in the Recoleta Cemetery (the 3rd
most important in the world), the monks of the order of Recoletos arrived
in this area in the early 18th century, and the cemetery is built around
their convent and a church. The order was disbanded in 1822, and the
garden of the convent was converted to the first public cemetery in Buenos Aires. We will then go
and see the widest Avenue in the world 9th of July Avenue, it may have 6 or 7 lanes each way??
Who’s counting?? We then go and look at 3rd best opera house in the world, Colon Theatre, and of
course the famous Obelisk and also take in so beautiful architecture of the surrounding buildings and
to the Malba Museum. We will also be doing wine tasting, which will include wines of a limited
production, boutique Argentine wines along with Argentine tapas, after which we will visit Palermo
Soho and of course it would not be complete without visiting the Evita Museum.

Day 5 (B, L, D) Delta Tigre
After breakfast we will head to Delta Tigre, on way we
will stop off at San Isidro and visit the ancient Cathedral,
from there we will take a boat to Delta of Tigre, where
we will see different houses and learn about the lifestyle
of the people who live in such a peculiar way. This Delta
is the only one in the world that flows into fresh water;
here we will stop to have lunch by the river. After lunch
we will take a walk along Puerto de Frutos, (the name
was given as the port was used for unloading fruit
production of the Delta), a market where typical products
from the islands are sold.
In the evening we will go to the best Tango show in Buenos Aires, where we will also have dinner.

Day 6: (B, L, D) Estancia
After breakfast (around 10am) we will be picked up by our tour guide, Elisabet, who will then take us
to visit a Late-Colonial style mansion, built in 1880 where
we will spend a whole day and night. You will be free to
explore the 300-hectare estancia (ranch) on foot or,
accompanied by a local gaucho, on one of the 38 horses
that are part of the working drove, or if you prefer there
are also horse drawn carriages are available.(I think I
may be taking one of these!!) You must remember to
take our swimming items as there is a swimming pool
with solarium that we will be able to enjoy; ping-pong;
metegol (table football).
Day 7: (B,L) San Antonio de Areco
After having breakfast, we will head towards this
old traditional town which differs from the rest of
the settlements of the Buenos Aires Province in
its nostalgic ambience, as the town has held its
traditions sacred. Its historical area, with the
Italianized criolla architecture, its estancias and
rural roads, the gauchos with their horses, the
calmness of the country-side with a number of
green hues, the skilled artisans, the old bars with the spontaneous greeting of the local, the oldfashioned stores contribute to create an atmosphere typical to that of the old days of the gaucho. In
the afternoon we will go to a “milonga”. This is another kind of tango. It is an old bar (1912) and we
will see ordinary people dancing tango.

Day 8: (B, L) Colonia Del Sacramento
Today we will leave Argentina for a Trip to Colonia Del Sacramento, in Uruguay, which is one of the
oldest towns in Uruguay. It was founded in 1680.
We travel by ferry, which takes approximately 1 hour, across the Rio de La Plata River to reach
Colonia del Sacramento with its cobblestone
streets built by the Portuguese in the 17th
century, we can only begin to imagine how
many have walked over them. This colonial
town was designated as World Heritage Site
by
UNESCO.
Day 9: (B, L) City Tour
Today we have full of sites to see in the city. We visit
La Boca with its colourful houses, street art and
football atmosphere everywhere. San Telmo, the old
part of town, with its cobbled stone streets and
antiques shops. We will visit a place that is like a
journey into the past of Buenos Aires. You will
descend from a beautiful restored 1830 house into
other architectural elements. Spectacular labyrinth of
wide vaulted brick tunnels long walled off was buried
under the site.
Then we will visit Barracas and its street art. After lunch we will visit downtown area, with Plaza de
Mayo (the main square of the city), Bicentenary Museum, this museum was built in 2010 to
commemorate 200 years since the start of the revolution that led to Argentina’s independence, Casa
Rosada (Presidential Palace), Cabildo, Metropolitan Cathedral (Pope Francis ‘Church) and May
Avenue, often compared to those in Paris or Barcelona due to its sophisticated building or art
nouveau. Then off to the famous Florida Street where we can do a bit of shopping

Day 10: (B) A DAY AT LEISURE
Today is a day to do as we wish, we can spend it together, or go off and do your own thing,
completely up to you, perhaps we can meet in the evening as chat about our day, or maybe just
have a long lie and relax around the hotel, whatever you want, today is your day!
Day 11: (B, L) Cooking Class
Today we are going to a cooking class on the outskirts
of Buenos Aires that is designed to offer food lovers a
unique gastronomic experience exploring Argentine
and Latin American cuisine, sampling local ingredients
and learning secret recipes. The whole scenery is
perfect for those who appreciate food and culture. We
will walk to a colourful, outdoor market where we will
gather our fresh produce, and maybe meet a local
along the way. This is a traditional Argentine market.
The stands go for several blocks and the area is closed
to traffic. We will have a 4 course lunch, with a different wine to go with each course. On leaving
here we will stop for a traditional coffee in a bar from 1920.
Day 12: (B, L) Mystery Tour
Today we have a mystery tour.............one you won’t forget!

Day 13: (B, L) La Plata
La Plata city -La Plata is the capital city of the Provence of Buenos Aires situated only 55 km from
Buenos Aires. La Plata is nicknamed "city of diagonals". Pedro Benoit designed the city, based on the
rationalist conception of urban centres. The city is
the shape of a square with a central park and two
main diagonal avenues north-south and east-west.
It has won several prizes for the layout.
We will then go to Café Tortoni which was
inaugurated in 1858 by a French immigrant
whose surname was Touan. Over the years the
cafe has been visited by many renowned people,
Hilary Clinton, Robert Duvall and some of the
most famous writers, painters, journalists and
musicians of Buenos Aires. A place where time
has stood still!

Day 14: (B, D) Leave for Buenos Aries behind as we head to Santiago Chile
Where we will meet our guide who will take us to our hotel before we go for a welcome
dinner.
Day 15: (B, L) Santiago
After breakfast we will have a full day having a cultural city tour around Santiago where we
will discover the capital city of Chile, with its mixture of new and ancient architecture
serving as a testimony of the cultural and social changes the country has lived through. With
its striking Andes mountain
backdrop, Santiago's snow
capped skyline is a memorable
highlight in this cosmopolitan
Latin American capital. We will
wander through the civic centre,
take in the panoramic city
views, visit the bohemian
Lastarria Area, and visit the fish
market and a visit to La
Mondea. There could even be a
walk up a hill!!

Day 16: (B, L) Santiago
After breakfast we will be picked up from our hotel to
go and have the Culinary Experience, that you will be
talking of for days to come, it is the perfect way to
immerse you in the unique gastronomically culture of
Chile. Guided by an expert sommelier, you will be led
through Santiago’s historic, bustling food markets
where you will sample a deliciously diverse range of
traditional Chilean dishes. This delectable experience
will inspire you to experiment with Chilean flavours yourself as you prepare 3 delectable
dishes in the home of renowned chef, Francisco Klimscha.
Day 17: (B, L) Casablanca - Valparaiso
Valley/Vina Del Mar
Explore the bohemian and historical port city of UNESCO
World Heritage Site Valparaiso, home to poet Pablo
Neruda and steeped in rich history in all of its stairwells
and winding hills. After feasting on the eclectic colourful
sites of Valparaiso. We will admire picturesque
architecture, explore the historical port, and visit the
poet Neruda’s La Sebastiana House. We will lunch at the
Casablance Valley wine yard.

Day 18 (B, L) Valparaiso – Vina Santiago
This morning will be at your leisure before we head back to Santiago.
Day 19 (B, L) Concha Toro Winery
After breakfast we will do a half day trip to the
famous Concha Toro Winery, which will include a
tour around the vineyard, a visit to the legendary
wine cellar, with an exquisite wine tasting session.
We will learn about Casillero de Diablo Mystery;
enjoy the views of the Chilean countryside

Day 20 to 21 in transit to New Zealand
Sadly we have to leave beautiful South America and head home to New Zealand, and
