Senior Distribution Operations Manager Division: POET Nutrition FLSA Status: Exempt SUMMARY The Senior Manager Distribution Operations is responsible for the operational oversight of all POET nutrition co-product transload, storage and distribution facilities and agreements. This position will work closely with POET Nutrition’s Leadership, Quality Assurance and Logistics Teams to ensure that POET Nutrition’s strategic business objectives are met. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Inspect all POET Nutrition trans-load, storage and distribution sites prior to use for compliance with all QA and logistics requirements. 2. Conduct annual audits of all outside POET Nutrition facilities to ensure compliance with all quality and operational requirements. 3. Assist in negotiating all distribution agreements by insuring compliance with all POET Nutrition quality, legal, insurance and operational requirements. 4. Provide loading and sampling oversight for ocean vessel, barge, container and storage facilities to insure compliance with POET Nutrition standards. 5. Support the Co-Product Merchandising Teams in developing and executing marketing strategies through use of outside facilities. 6. Work with POET Nutrition Business Development Team to evaluate potential trans-load, storage and distribution sites. 7. Coordinate implementation of FSMA requirements with the Quality Assurance Team at all outside facilities. 8. Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times. 9. Work in an honest and ethical manner and maintain confidentiality on all business related matters. 10. B e d e p e n d e d o n t o report to work at the scheduled time and is seldom absent. 11. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Bachelor’s degree required. Distribution/Manufacturing Operations, Plant Engineering, Logistics/Transportation focus preferred. At least 8 years of prior distribution and general management experience required. Knowledge of rail, highway and water borne distribution systems, processes and regulations. Functional experience working with Quality Assurance. Ability to function effectively at both a strategic and a tactical level. Ability to work in fast-paced environment while meeting multiple deadlines. Strong ability to multi-task and work well within a team and maintain a professional attitude at all times. Self-motivated and have the ability to work independently with little supervision. Knowledge in Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications. Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills. Revision Date: April 2015 WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position is largely self-directed and requires understanding of company policy, procedures, and values. Team members will be required to adhere to all safety requirements in all work environments. This position operates both in an office environment and in the field.
