Philippine Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck
Surgery (PSO-HNS) on the occasion of your Midyear
Convention on April 23-25, 2015 here in our city.
Your theme, “ENT and Other Specialties: HaloHalo sa Bicol,” agrees well with the onset of the hot
summer months that require a unique Filipino concoction
of summer fruits and shaved ice.
We are glad that we have you as our guests who
are trained in both specialized medicine and surgery who
are committed to give dedicated and refreshing variance
of skills and services to patients with disorders of the
ears, nose, throat, and related structures of the head and
neck.

Message from the
PSO-HNS President
In the past years, the PSO-HNS Midyear Convention has
found a home in a variety of locations around the country.
This time, the convention entitled “Halo-Halo in Bicol: ENT
and Other Specialties” would have the great honor and
opportunity to be hosted by the Bicol Chapter at the
Avenue Plaza Hotel on April 23 – 25, 2015 in Naga City.
Our program would be divided into a pre-congress activity
followed by the program proper. The pre-congress activity
would give us relevant information and updates on the
local medical, political, financial aspects of the Newborn
Hearing Screening Program of the country.
The scientific program would shift its focus on a wider
range of ENT diseases integrated with other non-ENT
ailments. Our topics would be discussed by distinguished
experts of their respective fields who would be competent
sources of newfound interest and knowledge. The lectures
on each segment would also include forums for questions
and discussions between the specialist and the attending
audience.
Every day new progress is being made. Techniques and
knowledge that pertains to our respective medical fields
and interests are generated and refined. Therefore, it is
now up to us to advance ourselves and be updated. Thus,
we invite you fellow ENT practitioners to seize this
opportunity to expand our horizons and in turn be able to
offer more effective service to our Filipinos!

In behalf of PBO-HNS, my warmest greetings to the
Bicol Chapter for hosting this year Mid-Year 2015
Convention. It will be another hard work for Bicol
Chapter especially with the theme "Halo-Halo in Bicol".
The topics that are lined up are expected to be
interesting and another learning experience but
combined with leisure, more so that many delegates
will bring with them their family members.

Maogmang pag-abot sa Bicol.
The PSO-HNS Bicol Chapter welcomes you to Cam Sur for
this year’s Midyear Convention with the theme “ENT &
Other Specialties”.
Just like the halo-halo with many ingredients, the
scientific program will tackle common ENT health issues
with views from other specialties. This is open not only
to ENT doctors but to other specialists, as well. Aside
from the scientific lectures, we prepared fun-filled
activities that will allow you to experience what our
region has to offer - taste the flavors... learn the culture...
witness the beauty. Take it all in, make it your own and
bring the memories back to your homes. We want to
make sure that this is a convention that we will all
remember for a long time.

Over-All Chairman
It’s been 9 years when we first hosted the PSO HNS
midyear convention in Legaspi City, however, fun filled
memories are still fresh among our fellow ENTs who
attended that convention. Way back in 2006, there were
only 10 members in the organizing committee, today we
have 17 hardworking members in the chapter.
This time around we would like to welcome you to the
heart of Bicol, the Pilgrim City of Naga, home of Bicol’s
patroness, Nuestra Senora de Penafrancia. The
organizing committee has prepared a scientifically
satisfying convention and a very enjoyable respite from
our busy schedules. This convention will give us time to
enjoy with our families, renew camaraderie among
fellow ENT’s, meet old friends and experience once more
the true Bicolano hospitality here in Naga.
