Justin Allgaier No. 51 BRANDT Chevrolet SS News and Notes Home Turf…The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) commences its two weekends at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS) with Sunday night’s Coca-Cola 600. The 600-mile Memorial Weekend race is the longest NSCS race of the season. Allgaier has two NSCS starts at the 1.5-mile speedway, with a best finish of 15th and two laps led, both in the Fall 2014 race. Crew Chief Steve Addington has one win at CMS, earned in May 2010. 600 Miles of Remembrance…To honor military service members and their families on Memorial Weekend, all NSCS car windshields will display names of service men and women instead of the driver’s name. The No. 51 Chevy will carry the name of United States Air Force Tech. Sgt. Adam K. Ginett. Tech. Sgt. Ginett was killed by an IED blast in January of 2010. See Justin…On Sunday, May 24 from 3:00 – 3:15 p.m. EDT, Allgaier will appear for a Q&A at the Team Chevy stage located in the CMS Fan Zone. Sprint Showdown Recap…Last Friday, Allgaier took part in the Sprint Showdown for the opportunity to advance to the Sprint All-Star Race, an exhibition race with a one million dollar purse. He qualified the No. 51 BRANDT Chevy in the 14th starting spot. After the two scheduled segments, Allgaier ended the evening in the BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevy in the eighth position for HScott Motorsports. Justin Allgaier on Charlotte Motor Speedway: “I always like racing at Charlotte [Motor Speedway] for several reasons. I like the track itself. We start the Coke 600 during the day when the track is hot and slick, and then we end the race in the dark. It’s almost like an endurance race for us, since it’s the longest race of the year. Most of us drivers live in the Charlotte area, so we’ve been able to spend a lot more time than usual at home. There has been plenty of go-kart and golf events going on in the area to keep me plenty busy. BRANDT Professional Agriculture is on the car this weekend and hopefully I can get them their first top 10.” Crew Chief Steve Addington on Charlotte Motor Speedway: “Keeping up with the changing track conditions is the most difficult part about this weekend at Charlotte [Motor Speedway]. Typically, you won’t see the cars that are really good at the beginning of the race, be the same cars that are really good at the end. Justin really likes this track, and he would’ve had a better finish in his first Cup start at the track had we not had a part failure. He did a great job in the fall race, and I think he can get another good finish this weekend.” Race Info: May 24, 2015 Charlotte Motor Speedway @CLTMotorSpdwy 1.5-Mile Oval Coca-Cola 600 400 Laps/600 Miles Broadcast Info: TV: FOX – 6:00 p.m. EDT Radio: PRN & SiriusXM 90 – 6:00 p.m. EDT Team Facts: Crew Chief: Steve Addington Spotter: Rocky Ryan Engine: Hendrick Motorsports NSCS Results at Charlotte Motor Speedway: Starts: 2 Best Start: 17th Best Finish: 15th About the Driver: Driver: Justin Allgaier Born: June 6, 1986 Hometown: Riverton, Ill.
