Dear Rancho Vistoso Residents,
During the April 7, 2015 Regular Board Meeting the Amphitheater Governing Board approved a
one-year delay on the construction schedule of the new STEM elementary school on Desert
Fairways Drive.
The recent actions of the Legislature and Governor to again drastically cut school district capital
budgets created an unimagined reality that necessitated consideration of the immediate future of
the new school project.
The design phase of the school will proceed through to the completion of construction
documents, as that work does not require the expenditure of maintenance and operations funds or
capital funds.
The Amphitheater School District will continue its commitment to communicate with Desert
Fairways neighbors, and we look forward to providing updates as we move closer to the new
construction timeline.
