FINAL INSTRUCTIONS 2015 Important information before the race EXPODEPOR-HEALTH & FITNESS EXPO 2015 EXPODEPOR 2015 – The Health & Fitness Expo will take place in Pabellón de Cristal del Recinto Ferial de la Casa de Campo situated on Avenida de Portugal s/n (28011 Madrid), on the 24th and 25th of April, occupying an exhibition space of more than 10.000m2 where some of the most prestigious firms, institutions and entities in the world of general sport and athletics in particular will be. It is recommended to visit the Expo on Friday, 24th of April to avoid the possibly of long waiting periods to access the Pabellón on Saturday due to legal capacity limits stipulated by Madrid Destino. Extremadura More information is available on: http://dgt.es/ Collection of the Race BIB and Gear Bag All runners must visit Expodepor-2015 in order to collect their Race bib with the timing chip, gear bag and the Adidas technical t-shirt. Each runner must collect their own race bib. Race bibs CANNOT be collected on the day of the race, collection of race bibs is exclusively at the EXPODEPOR –Health & Fitness Expo 2015. FINAL INSTRUCTIONS 2015 FINAL INSTRUCTIONS To collect the Race Bib Runners must present the DOCUMENT THAT CONTAINS THEIR RACE NUMBER with their photo ID or other Official Documentation When the person collecting the Race Bib is not the person registered, they must show the printed copy of the document that indicates the Race Number and a photocopy of the OFFICIAL DOCUMENT AND/OR ID of the person registered, that the organizers will retain IN CASE IT’S NECCESARY TO CONFIRM who collected the race bib. THERE IS NO FLEXIBILITY WITH THIS RULE AND UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL THE RACE BIB BE GIVEN TO PEOPLE WHO DON’T BRING THE DOCUMENTATION OF THE OWNER OF THE REGISTRATION. Medical information: Don’t forget to fill in the medical information on the back of the Race Bib which helps in case the runner needs medical assistance during the race. EXPODEPOR-FERIA DEL DEPORTE 2014 card If a runner has registered with an IBERCAJA Registrations done online with an Ibercaja card have a discount of €5. To Collect this discount, go to the Cambios de Cajón/Ibercaja stand in the Expo, present the Ibercaja credit/debit card with which the registration was paid and they will reimburse in cash the €5. EXPODEPOR-FERIA DEL DEPORTE 2014 Changes to Corrals To change to a slower paced corral simply move back to a slower corral on the morning of the race. No other procedures are required. If your training has gone better than expected and you want to move up to a quicker paced corral, collect your race bib and then go to the stand Corral Changes/Cambios de Cajón in Expodepor-2015 to be put in the appropriate corral. To do this, it’s necessary to PRESENT AN OFFICIAL PRINTED confirmation or certification from another race where the time was accomplished. EXPODEPOR-FERIA DEL DEPORTE 2014 Pasta Party* The Pasta Party will take place on Saturday the 25th of April from 13:00 until 16:00. All the REGISTERED runners in any of the three distances of the 2015 EDP Rock´n´Roll Madrid Marathon & ½ can enjoy a fantastic plate of pasta with fellow runners. You will be asked to show your bib number. * The Pasta Party is free for all runners registered in any of the three distances. * Those accompanying runners can buy a ticket to access the pasta party for €5. To be able to move between the most scenic points of the course and arrive on time to the start and finish line, we recommend using the METRO. The Baggage Check drop off and pick up for the EDP Rock ´n´ Roll Madrid Marathon & ½ is located in Retiro Park, near the finish line, at the end of the “Paseo Duque Fernán Nuñez”. Approximately 1200 meters from the starting line (Paseo de Recoletos). To access the Baggage drop off location area before the race, you can enter any of the gates in Retiro Park. The closest entrances to Baggage Check are located on: Av. Menéndez Pelayo (Puerta de Granada) and la Calle Alfonso XII (Puerta del Ángel Caído). Directional signs will be posted inside the park. When runners pick up their race bib at the Expo, they will also receive a numbered sticker that will match the bib number, and an Official Gear Bag. This bag must be used on race day to store personal items. The sticker should be placed on the indicated space on the Official Gear bag. The Gear Check service will be open from 7 am on April 26th until 15:30 pm the same day. Each distance, Marathon, ½ Marathon, and 10k will have a different designated Gear Check Area. Runners should drop off their bags at the corresponding Tents according to both their distance and the last digit of their bib number. GEAR CHECK AREA FOR MARATHON • Drop off Point 1: Bib numbers ending in 1 • Drop off Point 2: Bib numbers ending in 2 • Drop off Point 3: Bib numbers ending in 3 • Drop off Point 4: Bib numbers ending in 4 • Drop off Point 5: Bib numbers ending in 5 • Drop off Point 6: Bib numbers ending in 6 • Drop off Point 7: Bib numbers ending in 7 • Drop off Point 8: Bib numbers ending in 8 • Drop off Point 9: Bib numbers ending in 9 • Drop off Point 0: Bib numbers ending in 0 1255 Example: Bib number 1255 (Marathon distance) should hand in their bag at the Marathon drop off point Nº 5 THERE ARE SEPARATE BAGGAGE CHECK AREAS FOR THE ½ MARATHON AND 10K. How can runners pick up their Bags after the race? Runners can pick up their bags in the same area where they dropped off their bags according to their bib number and race distance. The Baggage Check personnel will only accept the Official Bags provided by the organization. Do not leave valuable belongings. The organization is not responsible for any damaged, lost, or misplaced items. Unclaimed bags will remain in the custody of the organization for one week after the race at the MAPOMA offices (C/ Donoso Cortés Nº 54). After, the organization will give all bags to a selected Charity. FINAL INSTRUCTIONS 2015 FINAL INSTRUCTIONS STARTING CORRALS Corral system The corral pens and starting assignments ensure an orderly start for participants of different paces. Based on the expected finishing time that was provided with your registration, you will be assigned with a race bib valid for the corresponding corral to said time. All corrals start the race together. *Look at your race bib it will have a box with the number of your corresponding corral. Course Time Limit To ensure the roads are open to traffic on time, the time limit for the Marathon is 6 hours, 3 hours for the ½ Marathon, 1 hour 30 minutes for the 10km and 3 hours 30 minutes with Hand Bikes (these times will be imposed strictly). The time limits start when the last participant and the tail vehicle cross the start line. If the pace of a participant is behind the official pace limit they can: • Increase their pace to stay within the time limit of the race. • Get in the tail car which will transport them to the finish line. PACERS Each race will have pacers with different race paces. According to their time they will be in different starting corrals, they will always be visible for the runners that want to follow their pace. PACERS Times: • Marathon: 3h/3h15min/ 3h30min/ 3h45min/4h/4h15min/4h30min/4h45min/5h • ½ Marathon: 1h30min/1h40min/1h50min/2h • 10K: 40min/45min/50min/55min/1h TIMING CHIP The correct placing of the Race bib number with the timing chip is very important. The timing chip is attached to the back of the Race bib. Don’t remove it. The Race bib must be placed on your chest and nowhere else. Please don’t bend or tamper with the bib before the race, and try to ensure that no device like a watch interferes with it when you cross the START or FINISH line. More information is available on the race website. http://es.competitor.com/madrid/uso-del-dorsal-chip/ MEDICAL ASSISTANCE IN THE RACE Run in a smart manner, maintaining a steady and aerobic pace. Run within your capabilities and slow down in the event of sudden fatigue. Before any negative symptoms, slow your pace down or even stop. If there is no clear improvement, ask for help. There is medical assistance along the course of the EDP Rock´n´Roll Madrid Marathon & ½. If you can no longer continue, there will be several tail vehicles that can pick you up and take you to the finish. Along the course there will be assistance provided by skaters. KM. 10 KM. 15 KM. 21 KM. 26 KM. 30 KM. 32,5 KM. 35 KM. 37,5 KM. 39,5 FINISH LINE FINAL INSTRUCTIONS 2015 FINAL INSTRUCTIONS FINISH LINE Secure Zone • Once you have crossed the finish line, you will enter the Secure Zone, a closed off area designed exclusively for participants (It is advised not to enter the secure zone with minors) • People WITHOUT A RACE BIB OR WITH AN UNOFFICAL RACE BIB will be REMOVED by security personnel before they access the secure zone. • Inside this zone, there will be drinks and food items available; also you will receive your FINISHER Medal (Once the volunteers have verified the authenticity of your 2015 Race Bib). • Once you have left the Secure Zone you will not be able to return under any circumstances. • After the Secure Zone, you can collect your bag from Gear Check. MEDAL ENGRAVING There will be an exclusive area after the FINISH line supplies where runners can get their medal engraved with their name and their finishing time. The price is €10 and only cash will be accepted. Important information for after the race RESULTS Through the web page runners can download the Official certificate of the EDP Rock´n´Roll Madrid Marathon & ½; the certificate will include your name & surname, your time and official ranking by categories. The provisional results will be published on the official website at 19:00 on Sunday the 26th of April. If you want to make a request for a change, you must use the form on the website. The results will be official two weeks after the race. You can see the time through the results webpage of the EDP Rock´n´Roll Madrid Marathon & ½: http://es.competitor.com/madrid/ MARATHONFOTO-OFFICIAL PHOTOS As the official photographers of the event, MarathonFoto will be taking photos during Race Day. You can buy these photos online after the event. It is important you keep your Race bib to locate your photos. After the race visit the MarathonFoto website, select the name of the event EDP Rock 'n' Roll Madrid Marathon & ½ and put in your race number to see your photos.
