New Features - Gameplay:
This build of the game has one game mode: Extermination. We chose to only implement one game
mode this time around so that we can get testing focused on multiplayer.
In Extermination, Players are tasked with clearing out all of the Grimm throughout the map as fast as
they can. As they progress, they will activate zones which lock them into an area of the map until they
defeat all enemies within said area. Once all areas have been cleared, the mission will be completed. At
the end of the mission, players will be scored based on their performance. There are five rankings in
total: F, D, C, B, and A.
New Features - Multiplayer:
This build introduces a new key feature to Grimm Eclipse: Multiplayer! You’ll be able to connect and play
with your friends to complete the given mission as fast as you can. Up to four players can play during a
session.
Starting a Server:
To start a server, first have the player looking to host click
Multiplayer. There they can change both their Username and
their Room Name. The Username is simply the name you’ll
see in the server lobby. The Room Name is the name of the
room/server other people will be connecting to. Once you’re
good to go, the server can be started by pressing Start Server.
If it was successful, a small grey message will appear beneath
the Connect to Server button saying where you started their
server, and your Username will appear in the bottom right
server lobby.
Connecting to a Server:
To connect to a server, just type in your desired Username and
the Room Name of the server you’re joining. Once you’re
connected, you’ll be able to see all currently connected players in the lobby at the bottom right of the
screen, as well as their names and your ping. When everyone’s ready, the host can press Play to get
started. As you can see, up to four players can be in any given session. Have fun!

Combat:
While the current in-game elements make up a large amount of the core gameplay, there are still a fair
amount of systems and mechanics we will be adding in the future to help flesh out the overall
experience.
Basic Attacks are the primary means of combat. Basic Attacks
combo together with Special Abilities, and they will restore Aura
with each hit. You can also Shoot by pressing the Shoot button.
Shooting does little damage, but allows you to attack from a
distance.
Aura is your character's life force, represented by the white bar.
Any time you take damage, you will lose Aura, and it will slowly
recharge after a few seconds. If you take damage while your Aura
is at 0, however, you will lose Health instead, represented by the green bar. If your health bar reaches
0, you will become incapacitated. You will be unable to move or attack while incapacitated until you are
revived by an ally. Should all players become incapacitated, the game will be over and you will fail the
mission.
Guarding will restore aura, but can be broken with
unblockable attacks. Pressing the Guard button while
moving will perform a Dodge, making you unhittable for
a brief second.
Reviving is done by standing next to an incapacitated
ally and holding down the Interact button. It will take a
little over a second to revive someone, and when they
get up, while their health will be restored, their aura
will remain at 0.
Locking-On will orient the camera to focus on your target. You
can lock onto a target by pressing the Lock-On button. You can
also see the target's Health in the upper right corner. If you
aren't currently locked onto anything, you will attack the target
closest to you.
Special Abilities are unique techniques that consume Aura
upon use, but deal high amounts of damage. You can integrate
Specials Abilities into your combos however you choose, but
only when you have enough Aura. Use them wisely!
Conclusion:
That's all for this update! As always, we’d love to hear any feedback/critique you may have for us! We
hope you enjoy RWBY: Grimm Eclipse!
