Dear incoming SHS Marching Band and Color Guard Member,
Congratulations on your achievements thus far! We are excited to have you here, and are
already revving up for another great marching band season for the Fall! With an exciting show
and season planned, we need to prepare our 200-member ensemble with all of the logistical
and preparatory items in order to make 2015-2016 the best yet at SHS! We will hit the ground
running to make sure we are well prepared for this season with two Marching Band
Orientation Workshops on May 30th and June 6th for all new and returning members.
These are important and *REQUIRED* workshops for all 2015 Marching Band students, as all
students will be meeting their sections and receiving music, check out school equipment
(instrument, color guard items) if needed, and important forms/medical paperwork required for
the 2015-2016 school year. The forms will be given to students at the first workshop on May
30th and due the following week June 6th. The due date for forms are highly important, as we
need to have set numbers for our show designer by this date, as well as turn in health and
permission forms before the summer begins.
Workshop #1: Saturday, May 30th: 9:00am-1:00pm – Saratoga HS Music Building
Please wear comfortable clothing and bring your marching band instrument. We will be both
outside and inside for a music/visual orientation workshop. For members who will be using
school-owned instruments, we will have them available for checkout on this day. A group
lunch will be provided at the end of the workshop!
Workshop #2 - Saturday, June 6th: 1:00am-4:00pm – Saratoga HS Music Building
**All forms from May 30th will be due at this workshop** Please wear comfortable clothing,
and bring back forms, your instrument, and all music from the first workshop.
