They have worked extremely hard and have sat each paper with a smile and a laugh (as we knew our Year 6 would!) We know that they will all achieve top results and feel proud of their attitude; taking on the challenges that arise on their journey of learning – a fantastic life lesson! The days started with a buzzing breakfast to get them in the zone; ending with a celebratory breakfast on Friday morning (thanks to Mrs Pearson – bacon sandwiches!) Just to note – no breakfast next week!!! They now continue with more hard work – preparing for their production!! RECEPTION SHOE BOXES A huge thank you to everyone that has donated shoe boxes for the Reception role play area. They now have enough shoe boxes for their role play “Shoe shop”. They even have a real foot measure as well! Year 6 children enjoying SATs breakfast club. WIG WEDNESDAY Just a reminder about “Wig Wednesday”. All parents must enter the school through the main office and must sign in. We hope that you have managed to obtain lots of sponsorship. We welcome everyone to come and cheer the children on and have fun with us at this worthwhile fundraising event. This is a non-uniform day. Raffle tickets are still available to purchase. There will be an ice cream van at school. Ice creams will cost £1.00. If your child/children would like to purchase an ice cream please put the money in a sealed named envelope. THE GREAT NORTH SWIM Miss Read’s class took on a real challenge this week. In swimming they were asked to swim and see how many widths they could do in 4 minutes. This was to emulate the stamina required of the swimmers that take part in the Great North run. SAINSBURY ACTIVE KIDS The highest swam was 18 which was very impressive! A huge thank you to everyone that has given in Sainsbury’s Active Kids vouchers. We are nowhere near our target! We really would like to collect as many vouchers as possible. By collecting the vouchers we are able to order some fantastic equipment which the children really benefit from. So please keep collecting. We only have a couple of weeks until we place our order. Thank you. GRIDCLUB LATENESS TO SCHOOL Children that are persistently late for school are being monitored. It is vital that children are on time for school and accompanied by an adult to the main school office if they are late, to explain why. This week again we have had a number of children that have been collected from school late. School finishes at 3.10pm. Please ensure that your child/children are collected on time. There is a website to use which is free to help with all curriculum subjects. It is great fun and full of educational games to play.
