TEACHING POSITION
School District 10 (Arrow Lakes) has the following temporary teaching position for the
2015-2016 school year:
Secondary Science and Elementary Prep Classroom Teacher
Lucerne Elementary Secondary School
0.75 FTE
Temporary
Effective:
September 8, 2015 – June 30, 2016, or pending return of the incumbent
We seek an innovative and passionate educator who embeds 21st century learning into their daily classroom practice.
Strengths in collaboration, co-planning and co-teaching are an asset, as well as the ability to differentiate to meet the
needs of all learners in an inclusive classroom environment. This is a K-12 position, with grades 7-12 science classes
and grade K-6 elementary prep relief that may include science and/or PE instruction. The secondary science classes
will be team taught in an integrated manner with the secondary math teacher.

Successful secondary Science teaching experience
A Major in Science studies at the University level
Skills and experience using technology to support learning and teaching
Commitment and expertise in building relationships with parents and community
Demonstrated exemplary skills and experience implementing technology to support learning and teaching
Successful experience integrating socio-emotional learning and self-regulation in the classroom
Strong interpersonal skills and strengths working in a team environment
Excellent classroom management skills and proven ability to engage all learners
Commitment to co-developing the School Growth Plan and to collaboration in organizing the school and
classroom for learning
Exemplary use of assessment strategies that engage and foster learning
Ability to differentiate for all learners in multi-grade classrooms
Previous elementary teaching experience will be an asset
Willingness to participate in the school's extra-curricular programs will be an asset
