TEACHING POSITION School District 10 (Arrow Lakes) has the following temporary teaching position for the 2015-16 school year: Grades 4-12 Technology and Hands-on Project-based Learning Teacher Lucerne Elementary Secondary School and Nakusp Elementary School 1.0 FTE Temporary Effective: September 8, 2015 until June 30, 2016 This position is based out of the carpentry shops in two schools. Applicants should have qualifications to teach carpentry and joinery, technology, small motor mechanics with secondary students as well as possess strong skills in project-based learning using technology for Grades 4-7 intermediate students. We seek an innovative and passionate educator who embeds 21st century learning into their daily classroom practice. Strengths in collaboration, co-planning and co-teaching are an asset, as well as the ability to differentiate to meet the needs of all learners in an inclusive classroom environment. Required characteristics / strengths include: Journeyman plus teacher qualifications, or teacher qualifications in Technology Education Exemplary safety skills in a shop environment Demonstrated exemplary skills and experience implementing technology to support learning and teaching Commitment and expertise in building relationships with parents and community Successful experience integrating socio-emotional learning and self-regulation in the classroom Strong interpersonal skills and strengths working in a team environment Excellent classroom management skills and proven ability to engage all learners Commitment to co-developing the School Growth Plan and to collaboration in organizing the school and classroom for learning i) Exemplary use of assessment strategies that engage and foster learning j) Ability to differentiate for all learners in multi-grade classrooms k) Willingness to participate in the school's extra-curricular programs will be an asset a) b) c) d) e) f) g) h) All applicants for this position should provide evidence for all areas of expertise or experience.
