Poster Contest Application Diversity Week 2015 Deadline: June 30, 2015 2015 Diversity Week Poster Competition Rules Please read these competition rules carefully before you submit your poster. THEME: RESPECT UCF Engaging, Exploring and Advancing an Inclusive Culture UCF Diversity Week is a celebration of our diverse community and an opportunity to explore topics across the broad range of human identity, experience and interaction. Diversity Week activities are intended to stimulate our campus and move us to a more inclusive culture. This year we kick off the RESPECT UCF Campaign for Diversity and Inclusion. UCF is strongest as a higher education institution, employer and community leader when we bring diverse thought and experience to our decision-making, teaching, research, and interactions among community members. Respect for and the inclusion of diverse voices 2014 First Place Design Ebone Grayson drive innovative thought and action; maximize the talent and contributions of faculty, staff, and students; improve recruitment and retention; and build a campus more representative of our constituents and Central Florida partners. The winning poster will reflect a campus that values diversity and inclusion and successfully represents our theme through the power of visual art. AWARDS: Grand Prize (1): $500, campus and community recognition, inclusion in UCF Library display Second Prize (2): $150, campus and community recognition, inclusion in UCF Library display Third Prize (3): $100, campus and community recognition, inclusion in UCF Library display Top 15 Student entries: Will be included in the UCF Library wall display for 30 days. All entries: inclusion in an online image gallery on our web site at www.diveristy.ucf.edu JURY SELECTION: Jurors will review all submitted designs to determine the three grand prize winners and designs, one of which will be selected to be the poster representative of the 2015 Diversity Week. In addition, they will also select the twelve (12) honorable mentions that will be on display on the UCF Library Wall during the month of October. Although submissions will be presented to jurors anonymously, no jury member or any member of their immediate family may compete in the contest. Diversity Includes All of Us – All The Time Poster Contest Application Diversity Week 2015 Deadline: June 30, 2015 ENTRY SPECIFICATIONS: Designs should be new, original work. Please do not submit work previously done for a client. Design can be part of an extra credit piece for a class. Designs will be anonymous during the judging process; therefore, they must not be signed or bear any other distinguishing marks. Designs must include: o ODI Unit Identifier* o 2015 Diversity Week – Theme o 2015 Diversity Week October 12 -16, 2015 *ODI will provide you with the Unit Identifier (Department Logo) to be used in the design. Otherwise, designs should be free of logos and copyrighted material. See www.brand.ucf.edu for UCF Marketing’s Brand and Identity Guidelines. Designs must be presented in vertical/portrait format. Participants may submit up to two (2) designs. TECHINICAL SPECIFICATIONS: 18” width x 24” height 300 DPI Color PDF Format Maximum file size 10MB DEADLINE: Monday, June 30, 2015 12:00 Noon EST Winners will be announced on Monday, July 13, 2015 If any entry infringes on someone else’s copyright by incorporating work that someone else owns the copyright to without obtaining the owner’s permission first, entrant will be disqualified from the contest and also hereby indemnifies and holds harmless UCF, including its Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the UCF Board of Trustees, the State of Florida and the Florida Board of Governors and their respective employees, agents, officers, volunteers and servants from any and all liabilities, responsibilities, claims, damages, causes of action and/or losses arising out of or related to the student’s infringement. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and municipal laws. The UCF Office of Diversity and Inclusion also reserves the right to disqualify submissions that are deemed inappropriate or offensive by the UCF Office of Diversity and Inclusion, at its sole discretion. UCF and the UCF Office of Diversity and Inclusion reserve the right to withdraw or terminate this contest at any time without prior notice. By signing this application, you warrant and certify that this poster is your original creation, and by signing this form, you hereby grant UCF and the UCF Office of Diversity and Inclusion a perpetual, non-revocable, royalty-free license to copy, distribute, display and otherwise use, and authorize others to use, without further compensation to the participating student, the poster for any educational, promotional and/or other purposes in any manner and medium as determined by the UCF Office of Diversity and Inclusion, at its sole discretion. By signing this form, you hereby also grant UCF and the UCF Office of Diversity and Inclusion the right to display your name and work. You acknowledge that submitted materials become the physical property of UCF/UCF’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion and will not be returned.
