for eradication of Demodex
LASHMODEX Gel
LASHMODEX Gel Is a preparation containing 12% w/v Melaleuca oil in a specialized gel
formulation. The gel is intended for application to the eye lids and other areas of the face in
order to Eradicate Demodex. Demodex folliculorum and Demodex brevis, both frequently
referred to as eyelash mites, are tiny parasitic mites that live in or near sebaceous glands
connected to hair follicles. Both species are primarily found in the face, in the area of the
eyelashes , near the nose, and the eyebrows.
Melaleuca oil Ph.Eur. contains at least 30% terpinen-4-ol, 5% α-terpinene, 10% γ-terpinene,
1.5% α-terpineol, 1.5% terpinolene, and a mixture of other phytochemicals including
aromadendrene, cineole, p-cimene, sabinene and α-pinene.
This preparation also contains Amethocaine 0.4%
HOW TO USE:
Apply this gel as follows:
Wash hands with soap first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the syringe tip.
Remove the cap from the syringe and press the piston of the syringe in order to place the
required amount of gel onto your fingertip - about half a centimeter. Use this to gently rub into the
sides of the nose and eyebrows. Wipe your finger and again apply a similar amount of gel. With
your eyes closed, apply to the eyelids with special attention to the eyelash rim. Keep you eyes
closed for several minutes and wipe off any excess. Replace the cap on the syringe. Wash your
hands with soap & water. Store the syringe in a clean plastic bag.
DOSAGE:
Normally this preparation is to be used twice daily for four consecutive days of the week followed
by a three day break. This weekly cycle is repeated for at least one month. The evening
treatment is best made immediately before sleeping. Apply to all the areas mentioned above
unless otherwise instructed by your physician.
SIDE EFFECTS:
This preparation is generally regarded as safe . However if you develop any unusual effects
while using this preparation it is wise to discontinue and notify your doctor or pharmacist
immediately. Special attention should be paid to burning or itching in the eyes or skin,
accompanied by swelling, tenderness or pain .
PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor and pharmacist if you have a history of allergies or drug sensitivity especially if
you have had a reaction to a volatile oil such as eucalyptus, lavender etc.
STORAGE:
Unopened syringes may be stored at room temperature, up to 25℃. Storage in a cool shady
place is preferred. Always re-close the syringe with the red cap provided.
