It is imperative that you inspect and adjust your new tactical vest to ensure you
not only have the correct fit, but also that your ballistic protection is situated on
your body the way it needs to be.
Please take the time and follow the steps below to properly inspect, adjust, and
fit your tactical vest.
Step 1 – Inspect Received Contents
Review the enclosed packing slip ensuring all components of the vest are
accounted for – including optional accessories. Additionally, inspect the contents
of the box to ensure all components are free of any manufacturer defects. Please
check all packages for shipping damages and correct content upon immediate
arrival of the product. All claims and damages incurred in shipping must be
addressed within 48 hours of receipt. All other initial claims must be made to our
company within five (5) business days.
Step 2 – Proper Orientation of Ballistic Panels
Ensure proper insertion of the carrier’s ballistic panels (including ballistic shoulders
or side inserts – if applicable) by checking that the STRIKE FACE label is facing
AWAY from the body. Continue to do the same for any optional accessories
in which the ballistic panels are removable (yoke, collar, upper arm (bicep) and
groin – if applicable)
Step 3 – Attach Optional Accessories
Attach all optional accessories and equipment to the tactical vest
CONGRATULATIONS!
You have just received one of the most modern, sophisticated and versatile
tactical vests available in the market today from PROTECH Tactical®. This
comprehensive owner’s manual provides you with the tools to help you
understand how each component of your tactical vest works together to create
a comprehensive individual protection system.
At PROTECH Tactical®, we eat, sleep, and breathe armor and we pursue our
obsession to offer the equipment that will help keep you safe during any
operation. Whether you’re ending a hostage standoff or breaching a door, we’re
with you, offering the finest, most advanced protective gear available anywhere
in the world. From vests, to plates, to helmets, shields and more, the name
PROTECH Tactical® is your assurance you are protected by the best there is.
Step 4 – Shoulder Adjustment (If Applicable)
First, loosen all straps. Don the vest. The front carrier scoop should be in line with
clavicle notch just below the center of the neck. The back carrier scoop aligns
comfortably slightly below where the base of the neck meets the shoulders.
Adjust the shoulder straps (if applicable) as necessary to obtain this.
*NOTE – If a collar is detachable ensure the top of the collar is situated so the
wearer is able to look up and back moving the head backward.
Step 5 – Internal Cummerbund Adjustment
Secure the internal cummerbund around the lower torso by pulling the elastic
tight and adhering the hook and loop platforms together. If the vest includes an
adjustable version, adjust as necessary to loosen or to tighten fit.
Step 6 – Outer Cummerbund Adjustment – Side Closure
Fasten the outer cummerbund with moderate tension ensuring a recommended
minimum of a two-inch, front to back overlap on each side of the vest.*NOTE – If
the tactical vest features a side ballistic panel, ensure a recommended minimum
two-inch overlap in the back and a three-inch overlap in the front.

ADDITIONAL USE AND CARE WARNINGS
An officer’s body armor performs at its best when it is
properly taken care of. Failure to properly maintain your vest
in accordance with the use and care instructions will void the
armor’s warranty. Below are some additional warnings you
should note prior to the use of your armor.
FAILURE TO CLOSELY FOLLOW THESE USE & CARE
INSTRUCTIONS WILL VOID ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING
BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY BALLISTIC PERFORMANCE
WARRANTY, AND COULD LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURY OR
DEATH.
DO NOT ABUSE YOUR VEST! If this Vest is heavily worn
(e.g., wrinkles or rolls in the ballistic panels open breaks
in the outer carrier, heavy stains, worn threads, visible
moisture, cracked seams, cover splits), regardless of its age,
it shall be deemed to be abused and no longer subject to
any warranties.
INSPECT YOUR VEST FREQUENTLY! Should the armor
panel package (including without limitation any edge seal of
an armor panel, where applicable) be broken, interrupted,
cracked or damaged in any way, the Vest should immediately
be taken to an authorized dealer for an inspection. Armor
panels that are broken, interrupted, cracked or damaged
may negatively impact the Vest’s ballistic performance and
may need to be repaired or replaced!
STORE YOUR VEST CAREFULLY! The resistance and
performance of armor panels can change with time and
wear, especially when exposed to extreme environmental
conditions. This Vest should not be stored in places where it
is exposed to high temperatures and/or in combination with
high humidity for long periods of time. Exposure to such
extreme environmental conditions may negatively impact
the Vest’s ballistic performance.
OTHER EXAMPLES OF IMPROPER USE: Replacing the
armor panels with those from another manufacturer; placing
Safariland’s armor panels into an unauthorized outer carrier;
wearing the outer carrier without inserting the armor panels;
or inserting the armor panels into the outer carrier in the
wrong direction. Contact Safariland’s Customer Service
Department if you have any questions about authorized
configurations.
