Estudiantil Hallazgos
The World Book Atlas includes hundreds
of maps that are created and updated
by World Book's Cartography staff.
World Book Dictionary is available
throughout the World Book Web. The
dictionary contains more than 248,000
definitions.
Spanish speakers and students of
Spanish can benefit from the clear,
concise information in Estudiantil
Hallazgos, World Book's intermediate
Spanish-language encyclopedia.
• The atlas offers an interactive
browsing feature that enables
students to move from one map to
another. Click on any label on the
map to go to another related map.
• Links to related maps are listed to
the left of maps.
• The “other views of maps” function
offers different versions of maps, for
example, population density or terrain
versions.
• Every word in the dictionary is
interactive. Double-click on any word
and the dictionary entry relating to
that word will appear.
• The World Book Web uses the dictionary to offer options for misspelled
words. For example if you search for
‘kastle‘ the dictionary lists alternate
suggestions, starting with ‘castle.’
• Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos
offers thousands of easy-to-read
Spanish-language reference articles
and colorful illustrations.
• The browse function allows students
to search for article titles in both
Spanish and English.
• Entries in the dictionary start with a
pronunciation in brackets. A key to
the World Book pronunciation system
is in the Pronunciation Key article.
World Book Web is one of eight resources included in Iowa AEA Online. Iowa AEA
Online is a collection of online educational resources, funded and provided by Iowa
Area Education Agencies (AEAs) to all Iowa accredited PreK-12 schools. Iowa AEA
Online supports the content standards for school curriculum and student learning
by bringing a wealth of information to teachers and students 24 hours a day, seven
days a week. (Internet access required.) For access to all eight resources go to:
www.iowaaeaonline.org
All Iowa AEAs are required to
adhere to state and federal
laws that prohibit discrimination in programs, activities
and employment practices.
For specific information,
contact your AEA. These
databases are licensed for
Iowa K-12 students and
teachers only. Sharing the
user IDs and/or passwords
with unauthorized users may
result in the district, school or
AEA losing access privileges.
Iowa AEAs provide the World Book Web Complete Suite
at no cost to all accredited PreK-12 schools in Iowa.

that it is a safe
