On the other hand, the academic institutions are doing their best within the available limited resources with them. It is a general opinion that the current education system does not focus on technical skill development in young engineers/graduates that could meet the ever growing & challenging industry requirements. It also is ineffective to make them employable & productive from the day one. Industry requires hands on technical skills that can provide them with employment opportunities as and when they graduate from the academics. Today, a large section of India’s work force has nearly outdated skills. With current and expected economic growth, this challenge is going to only increase further, since more than 75% of new job opportunities are expected to be strictly “skill-based.” While across business sectors, companies and industry associations are not only boosting their in-house training facilities, but are also taking steps to make potential employees job-ready before they join organizations. We at Prannath Parnami Universe have also realized the significance and need for skilled technical manpower for the industry. To find some amicable and agreeable solutions to fill the gap of the talent available after college academics and as needed by the industry, PPU took the initiative to contribute its’ bit (as a private sector entity) through two day corporate meet to support effectively to the Government’s endeavors. Around 20 deligates from the corporate sector participated in the corporate summit. 27 www.ppu.edu.in “Potential Recruiters” 28 www.ppu.edu.in WORLD CLASS INFRASTRUCTURE DIGITAL-LIBRARY Library or Learning Resource Center is one of the most quintessential aspects of any academic instituton. At PPU we believe that innovation comes through ideas and ideas can flourish with rich and free-flowing environs like that of a Learning Resource Center. The facilities at PPU library that make it a complete knowledge center includes an extensive collection of over 25,000 books, large collection of regular periodicals, journals, course-related and general interest books. DELNET (Developing library Network) and INDEST (Indian National Digital Library in Science & Technology), online connectivity to support project and research work, a scholarly journal room, multimedia section, book bank facility, and an impressive central hall for students and faculty. IT NETWORK Technology has transformed education at PPU. The highspeed internet facility provides ready access to the world of information to our students.
