MESSAGE
Mrs. Kathuria is an acclaimed social activist and her
concept to serve women’s to go online "SHIKSHAYATRA"
is appreciated by lot of government officials, NGO's and
Media.
She is the Consulting Editor of Vandana magazine. Her
column in the magazine is highly acclaimed and has been
getting great feedback from the readers. Her columns on
various social topics also appear in local magazines, Her
in spiritual life style is covered by SANJHI-Jagran News
paper recently.
All insecurity, hesitation and inconvenience ends with
the realization that we all belong to each other. When
Guru ji (Swami Shri Sadanand Ji Maharaj) made me
understand this very adorable fact of the living system,
within a fraction of a second, colors turned more
influential, music more melodious, beauty more
lasting, sun more shining, moon more close… as
“mine”, the word hugs with warmth and adds peace in
smile.
When Guru ji made me peep into the world from this
perspective, I was stunned with the difference and at
the very point got inspiration to make efforts to give a
touch of my colors to this picture. Since then, Prannath
Parnami Foundation and I got together. Being a
Parnami and the Managing Director of Prannath
Parnami Universe, I believe that we need to serve
humanity in all possible manners. Public distribution of
clothes to the needy, free health check-up camps, rural
visits, etc. are not contributions from our side to
society but a way to thank the almighty. We all belong
to each other, are responsible for each other and so
have to be there for each other… always.
Garima Kathuria
Managing Director
She also heads the CLUBS chairmanship of PPU, where
she always encourages students to get involved with the

CORPORATE SUMMIT
Considering the current employment opportunities for the
Technical graduates coming to market in thousands and
thousands numbers every year, it is said by the industries that
almost 70% talent is either unskilled or untrained to be
productive from the day one and the industries have to spend
huge resources on them to make them productive.
On the other hand, the academic institutions are doing their
best within the available limited resources with them. It is a
general opinion that the current education system does not
focus on technical skill development in young
engineers/graduates that could meet the ever growing &
challenging industry requirements. It also is ineffective to make
them employable & productive from the day one. Industry
requires hands on technical skills that can provide them with
employment opportunities as and when they graduate from the
academics. Today, a large section of India’s work force has
nearly outdated skills. With current and expected economic
growth, this challenge is going to only increase further, since
more than 75% of new job opportunities are expected to be
strictly “skill-based.”
While across business sectors, companies and industry
associations are not only boosting their in-house training
facilities, but are also taking steps to make potential employees
job-ready before they join organizations. We at Prannath
Parnami Universe have also realized the significance and need
for skilled technical manpower for the industry.
To find some amicable and agreeable solutions to fill the gap of
the talent available after college academics and as needed by
the industry, PPU took the initiative to contribute its’ bit (as a
private sector entity) through two day corporate meet to
support effectively to the Government’s endeavors. Around 20
deligates from the corporate sector participated in the
corporate summit.

Automobile engineers are highly in demand nowadays because of very
high proliferation of automobiles in everyday life all over the world. Maruti
Suzuki, Toyota, Volkswagen, Tata Motors, Hyundai, Mahindra & Mahindra,
Ashok Leyland, Hindustan Motors etc. are some of the indigenous
automobile manufacturers in the country. The automobile manufacturing
industry is supplemented by original equipment manufacturers, spare part
dealers and maintenance workshops where the automobile engineers are
required. Of course, other fields are also open to these engineers where
they can find suitable jobs. Some of these areas are defense forces, space
programme, atomic energy, power plants, railways, research laboratories,

environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams and
buildings. Civil engineering is the oldest engineering discipline after
military engineering and it was defined to distinguish non-military
engineering from military engineering. It is traditionally broken into several
sub disciplines including environmental engineering, geotechnical
engineering, geophysics, geodesy, control engineering, structural
engineering, biomechanics, nanotechnology, transportation engineering,
earth science, atmospheric sciences, forensic engineering, municipal or
urban engineering, water resources engineering, materials engineering,

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
India is going through an intense phase of rapid infrastructure
development. This throws up possibilities of absorption of civil engineers in
a great measure. In other words, the job prospects for Civil Engineers
currently are at an all time high. Presently huge demand and supply gap
exist for Civil Engineers in the market. The effect of this gap is manifested by
the fact that all students of 2009-2012 batch of this department and also all
eligible/ willing students of present final year batch are placed in reputed
companies such as GR Infra Projects Ltd, KMC Construction, PNC
Infratech Ltd., Sushee Infra Pvt Ltd, TCS , Theme Engineering, Unihorn,

Computer engineering is a discipline that integrates
several fields of electrical engineering and computer
science required to develop computer hardware and
software. Computer engineers usually have training in
electronic engineering (or electrical engineering),software
design, and hardware-software integration instead of only
software engineering or electronic engineering. Computer
engineers are involved in various hardware and software
aspects of computing, from the design of individual
microprocessors, personal computers, and
supercomputers, to circuit design. This field of engineering
not only focuses on how computer systems themselves
work, but also how they integrate into the larger picture.

DEPARTMENT OF
APPLIED SCIENCES & HUMANITIES
DEPARTMENT OF
APPLIED SCIENCES & HUMANITIES
The department of Applied Science & Humanities is the first
interface of an engineering student with the college. The
department lays the foundation on which advanced
engineering concepts are built. The department imparts
training in both basic and applied areas of Physics, Chemistry,
Mathematics, Bio-Technology and Communication Skills. The
department has a vibrant atmosphere backed by experienced
faculty having an experience of more than 35 years. Mingled
with them is our highly dedicated young staff working with
vigor.
COURSES OFFERED
These departments build foundations for engineering
knowledge and skills in the respective disciplines. Applied
Physics provides a sound science base for all engineering
disciplines during I and II semester. Industrial Chemistry has
contributed significantly to engineering fields like polymer
technology, material science, industrial waste management
etc. Environmental Studies & Green Chemistry sensitizes the
students regarding the current environmental issues and
awareness regarding the ways to protect and create a culture
of green environment from getting deteriorated. Applied
Mathematics is all pervasive and no field of engineering is
complete without it. Students are therefore given a thorough
grounding in mathematics during first year and advanced
subjects in subsequent years.
On the whole, the students in the first year are trained to
explore, to innovate, to analyze and to acquaint themselves
with the pplications of basic sciences in engineering and
technological areas. The students are individually encouraged
to perform experiments and handle the instruments. The
departments have well equipped laboratories with all modern
facilities including one R&D lab. In addition, the first year
students under the guidance and control of the Applied
Sciences are exposed to the following laboratories of the other
departments, namely Computer Systems Lab., Computer
Programming Lab., MS Office and Internet Lab., Computer
Aided Drafting, Workshop Practices (ECE and CE) and
Workshop Practices (ME).
All the Departments of Applied Sciences have highly qualified,
experienced and dedicated faculty, who helps in creating an
exciting academic and research oriented environment. In order
to inculcate research aptitude, skills and synergy among first
year B.Tech. students and faculty, various workshops and
conferences and Innovation. Projects are also conducted in
the departments. The institute tries to infuse self confidence in
our students from the first year itself and help them to develop
the skills and demeanor of lifelong learning so that they
become academically competent and capable of facing the
future with resilience and optimism.
