Beginning Top Cooks will visit the world acclaimed Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. An incredible behind the scenes tour and a special lunch await our campers. All Top Cooks will return to the wonderful world of Sheelah Kaye-Stepkin at Torte Knox Cooking School in Hawley, Pennsylvania. Our campers return to learn new skills while they experiment with unique recipes. We’ll whip up new creations with menus designed by Sheelah herself! All Top Cooks will visit The Patisserie with chefs Mark Edmunds and Christian Garcia! They will dazzle us with new techniques and recipes and more hands-on baking. Other exciting Top Cooks classes include knife techniques, table setting and table art, creative menu planning, grilling, canning, preserving and pickling. We will welcome visiting chefs for hands on demonstrations. We will have another wonderful summer in and out of the kitchen, so please join us for our best season yet! New for 2011: Two Superstar tennis tracks: 1. Superstar for all age and all level players with an emphasis on teaching and practicing fundamentals and 2. Advanced Superstar for the Middle and High School team players who aspire to compete in U.S.T.A. tournaments year–round. All Superstar and Advanced Superstar players will get the following: • One daily high-energy instructional squad session. • Small group, maximum of 4 campers at same level in each group. • Two private lessons per week with a U.S.T.A.-certified or equivalent pro – one camper per instructor. The same instructor will follow your child’s progress all summer. • Play in at least one supervised match per week, in addition to lessons. • Conditioning and drill sessions. • Strategy and mental preparation, including discussions on tactics, training, and nutrition. • Participation in at least one U.S.T.A. sanctioned tournament • Membership in the U.S.T.A. • Tennis ladder competition. • One year’s subscription to Tennis magazine. • A Superstar Tennis t-shirt. • A detailed personal progress report and certificate. By Popular Demand for 2011 Private Tennis Lessons Superstar Tennis & Private Lessons Camp’s awardwinning tennis program – Mid-Atlantic United States Tennis Association (U.S.T.A.) Organization of the Year. Take private lessons from our outstanding U.S.T.A.-certified or equivalent teaching professionals under the direct supervision of our tennis director. Our private lessons are perfect for campers of all ability levels who are interested in exceptional one-on-one instruction while at camp! One-on-One Fitness Training Get in shape for sports, for life! Conditioning for school sports or get into your best shape ever! • 2-3 sessions per week with a personal trainer. • Strength training, cardio, core strength, dynamic and static stretching, and the latest fitness exercises including TRX training. • Develop personal goals with the guidance of an expert. • Improve sports skills such as power, speed, endurance, vertical jump, throw power and more. • Chart weekly individual progress. • Learn safe and healthy techniques for conditioning and nutrition. • Dri-fit t-shirt. • Personalized exercise program to bring home. • Limited enrollment for full-season campers entering grades 6-10. • Located on camp property on our beautiful 200-acre ranch. • One on one instruction for all levels; beginners to advanced, including jumping. • Two to four hours of lessons each week. • Expert instruction in the ring and on the trails. • Competition in a horse show. • Top Ranch riding shirt. Campers must have appropriate shoes (boots or hard shoes). Riding helmets will be provided for campers who do not bring their own. Professional SAT Prep For campers entering 11th grade and 10 th graders proficient in Algebra and Geometry. Prepare for the SAT at camp with top-notch professional tutors, with proven track records. Campers will take a series of full-length practice tests that use actual questions from previous SAT tests, so they gain hands-on test-taking experience. Membership in the U.S.G.A. One year’s subscription to “Inside the U.S.G.A”. Lessons in the fundamentals – proper stance, grip, etiquette, putting, chipping, and driving.
