Journey with us as we explore real and imagined worlds through art. In each two-week
session we travel to imaginary places that
will inspire our art making. Campers will
transform their classroom into a museum of
artifacts from their travels to these foreign
lands. We’ll also play games outdoors to keep
our creative juices flowing.
Become a king or queen for the day when
we visit a royal palace and make our own
masks, crowns, robes, capes, and swords for
the royal ball.
NEW! Jungle Safari July 25 – August 5
Explore the rain forests and savannas when
we create rain sticks and drums, jungle
animal masks, and wearable elephant trunks
in our artistic safari adventure!
Build-it-Yourself

intelligence. Learn clever Minecraft tricks
from our network of wizards and become an
engineering hero in the world of Minecraft.
Remote Control Pirate Boats
July 25 – 29
entering 3rd – 7th grades
Mates will use research, imagination, and
premium quality junk to design and rig menacing (or cunningly inviting) model pirate
ships and crews. The privateers will be powered by a remote control hull and navigate
around a treacherous Pirates’ Cove, staging
epic sea battles and dramatic escapes. Arrgh!
NEW! Computer Graphics and Animation
August 1 – 5
entering 3rd – 7th grades
Generations are often judged by the art they
leave behind for their descendants. Each
campers’ mission is to design digital artifacts
that will make future civilizations say, “Wow!”
Learn from experienced designers and programmers how to design animated cartoons
and far out graffiti, create cool screen savers,
illustrate a storyline, and develop graphics
for a Web site. You will learn to use both
vector and pixel-based drawing tools – primarily
PowerPoint and Gimp.
NEW! Adventures in Science entering 3rd – 7th grades
Crime Scene Investigation (CSI)
July 11 – 15
See the world of forensic science come to
life! By studying age-appropriate crime
scenes, campers will learn about fingerprinting, ink and fiber analysis, and will examine
(fake) blood samples and other evidence.
For more details and to register, visit www.summeratpark.org
Young investigators will use deductive reasoning, observation, and recorded evidence to
solve crimes. The program will also include
on-campus demonstrations from local police
detective units and the sheriff department’s
K–9 unit.
G-Force
July 18 – 22
This week-long “hands on, minds on”
program gives campers the freedom to
imagine, design and build structures
that have speed and extreme acceleration.
Thinking creatively, we’ll build a roller
coaster and compare it to riding the real
thing. We’ll fabricate rockets from scratch
and blast them off to a height of 500 ft!
We’ll also construct catapults to send
marshmallows and other projectiles flying.
Who knew that science could be so much
fun?!
NEW! Explore and Experiment!
July 25 – August 5
Come for days packed with activities and
projects that will satisfy any young scientific mind! Learn the scientific method by
designing your own living experiments and
using deductive testing skills to identify
mystery chemicals. Get an up-close view of
molecules and other tiny things in our world
with microscopes and other techniques. See
how polymers and other weird substances
are formed by making your own slime and
bouncy balls. Find out what animals eat
through observation and dissecting owl pellets. Explore the science behind food while
making butter and ice cream. We’ll create
music and art by using the principles of
sound and light, properties of matter, and
plenty of exciting chemical reactions. Come
“Explore and Experiment” to see how science
is all around us! NEW! Woodcarving Skills
July 11 – 22
entering 3rd – 7th grades
Carve a handy utensil, whittle an animal
figure, fashion a sapling into a fishing pole,
or make a set of bow and arrows. In this
hands-on program, we start with responsible
knife safety and honing. Soon we’ll be peeling bark off stems of arrow-wood and fletching on turkey feathers. We’ll carve bows from
saplings of hickory and other choice woods.
Our raw materials come from the forest
where every tree has properties suited for
particular, useful purposes. Some peeled bark
can be shaped into containers. Some young
trees can be bent and twisted into a woodland
shelter. In our outdoor classroom under the
big beech tree, we’ll carve, peel, bend, and
shape this wonderful material into a variety
of items, as well as practice our archery skills.
*All tools and materials will be provided.
Living Arts entering 4th – 7th grades
Welcome to the house of YOU, where young
artists feel at home expressing their own
unique points of view. We’ll weave a sense
of play into the day emphasizing style,
texture, vision, and perspective. We will draw
inspiration from ancient cultures and a few
select art masters that exemplify dedication,
technique, and work ethic to the process of
making art. Campers will gain invaluable
confidence in self-expression while working
in a positive and dynamic group environment.
Each camper will complete a number of
individual art projects as well as participate in
developing one group project. Three amazing
sessions, one extraordinary art-making
experience.
Weaving Wonder

(STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering,
Math)
August 8 – 12, August 15 – 19
entering 3rd – 5th grades
Have you ever used an iPad to play your favorite online game? Do you love to play board
games like Monopoly and Apples to Apples?
Imagine creating your OWN games! This
camp will tap into each camper’s love of creating and playing games. We will begin with a
focus on learning and mastering the fun programming language of Scratch. Students will
create their own unique, online games working collaboratively and creatively to have their
designs come to life on the screen. Campers
will then turn their online video games into
physical board games! They will apply their
Scratch knowledge to make their physical
board games come to life using invention kits
called MaKey MaKeys. Let the games begin!

Game ON! July 5 – August 5
entering 2nd – 6th grades
Join us where the game is always ON! Capture
the Flag, Bag-O, floor hockey, and campuswide relay races are only the beginning of
this sports extravaganza. Park’s campus will
be transformed into Fenway Park, TD Bank
Garden, Gillette Stadium, and an Olympic
pavilion all at once. Game On counselors
will cover the basic skills and tactics of team
sports such as baseball, (floor) hockey, football, basketball, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, and
some individual sports like track & field.
Campus-wide scavenger hunts, giant water
battles, and “neighborhood games” like
kickball and SPUD, help round out the day.
Campers will play all of the sports they know
and love, while improving sport-specific skills.
They will learn how to win with class, lose
with dignity, and play with intensity while
respecting their opponents, teammates, and
themselves.
SummerBall (Baseball) July 25 – 29
entering 2nd – 6th grades
Looking to improve your baseball skills
during the summer? Join us at SummerBall!
This program is perfect for boys and girls

will practice the fundamentals and develop
confidence. More experienced players will
get advanced training to sharpen their skills.
And everyone will enjoy learning the game
through a combination of small-group
instruction, team-based skills competitions,
and scrimmages. We build players from the
ground up, with a focus on proper footwork
and body mechanics in throwing, fielding,
hitting, pitching, and catching. Our goal is
to help campers understand the game better,
play the right way, and love the game more
than ever. At SummerBall, we offer the best
of everything — experienced instructors who
are knowledgeable and enthusiastic, drills
that are structured and engaging, and an
atmosphere that’s both developmental and
fun. Let’s play ball!
