decide la creación de un arma manejable y pudiendo disparar
por ráfagas. En 1918, Hugo Schmeisser y la sociedad
Bergmann presentan el MP18/1 (Maschi-nenpistole 18/1) del
que serán producidas 35 000 unidades. A pesar de la capitulación
alemana y de las restricciones del tratado de Versalles, Hugo
Schmeisser desarrolla de manera secreta los MP28, MP34
y MP36. De estos trabajos se derivará el famoso MP40.
También se le debe a Hugo Schmeisser el Sturmgewehr 44.
Fue enrolado a la fuerza por el ejército rojo de 1946 a 1952
