FASHION MANUFACTURING 16.17.18 Sept. 2014 Paris Nord Villepinte New Hall 6 PRESS KITDE PRESSE DOSSIER www.zoombyfatex.com ZOOM, Fashion Manufacturing, the Euro-Med and Indian Ocean fashion sourcing show, joins Première Vision in Hall 6 creating a new dynamic. A new location Having joining the Première Vision Pluriel line-up six years ago, ZOOM is now moving to a new home the northeast section of Hall 6 to maximise interaction between complementary fashion sectors. The move from Hall 2 to Hall 6 will promote stronger ties within the industry. Creative flat knitting manufacturers will be a welcome addition to the Knitwear Solutions area at the entrance to Hall 6, improving the coherence of the Première Vision Pluriel offer. ZOOM’s relocation is accompanied by a new, brighter and more modern design for the exhibitor stands, which complements Première Vision’s overall design. A dynamic manufacturing alliance As a result of the show’s closer proximity to fabric manufacturers, ZOOM’s visitors will benefit from better synergy between upstream and downstream sectors. With less of a distance to walk, visitors - in particular the large number of international visitors can plan their visit to arrange easier and more complementary cut-and-sew collaborations. It is also of benefit to exhibiting manufacturers, who will be closer to their suppliers. A reliable and forward-looking platform for high-quality proximity fashion and accessories manufacturing solutions. ZOOM may have a new location and layout, but the fashion manufacturing trade show is still the same in all other respects. It remains committed to offering production managers of fashion and accessories brands fresh solutions that are better suited to an increasingly fragmented and fast-changing market. The ZOOM concept is based on a handpicked selection of specialist firms that all meet our stringent standards of quality, responsiveness and flexibility, and are able to deal with the increasingly complex sourcing requirements of international buyers. These carefully selected businesses have all proved themselves capable of meeting top fashion brands’ needs for high-quality products and just-in-time delivery. Press kit - 16.17.18 Sept. 2014 -2- A manufacturing zone rich in traditions, techniques and fashion expertise. ZOOM’s sourcing solutions offer is restricted to the Euro-Med region (Europe and countries on the Mediterranean shores), as well as countries that have customs agreements (reducing customs delays) with the European Union, such as Mauritius and Madagascar. ZOOM is an integral part of the Première Vision portfolio, providing an overview of the latest European fashion manufacturing and co-contracting offers and showcasing the industry’s most attractive qualities: its wealth of experience, techniques and (often ancestral or unique) know-how. Press kit - 16.17.18 Sept. 2014 -3- 1. Europe According to the Euratex 2013 study, the textiles and apparel sector represents a significant portion of the EU’s manufacturing industry and plays a crucial role in the economies the 27 member states. The industry, worth €166 billion, comprises 173,000 firms and employs 1.7 million people. Since its launch, ZOOM has presented largely European firms, focusing on Eastern European countries such as Romania and Lithuania, suppliers of high-end products such as France and Italy, and countries that provide exceptional value for money, such as Bulgaria, Portugal and Moldova. Greece - a new exhibiting country whose return has been eagerly awaited for several years showed promise at the beginning of 2013 with an increase in T-shirt exports to France of 12% (Worldwide Sourcing study 2013 presented at ZOOM). The financial crisis has been a gamechanger for this major textiles producer, which was the first country to relocate its business activities abroad, immediately after the economic collapse, to Bulgaria and Romania. • 3+1 Clothing (Stand 6ZG7) is the new exhibitor from Greece. Established in 1956, 3+1 Clothing specialises in high-end circular knitting, mostly for womenswear. The company is capable of dealing with all kinds of requests at competitive prices. www.clothingmanufacturer.gr Bulgaria, which has exhibited at ZOOM since 2011, and more regularly since 2013, presents a single, tried-and-tested exhibitor: Richmart (Stand 6ZD1) is an expert in high-end suits and mens jackets. France: 16 firms offer world-renowned contract manufacturing solutions. Their presence at ZOOM signals their desire to enter the global market. The French contingent comprises wellknown firms including Club Textile Intégral (stand 6ZJ2), DPL Hervier (stand 6ZE2) GETEX (stand 6ZK2) Confection Deux Sèvres (stand 6ZK10), JC Confection (stand 6ZK10), Lener Cordier (stand 6ZG15), Chanteclair (stand 6ZJ2), l’Atelier d’Ariane (stand 6ZJ2) et Servistyl (stand 6ZK8). The Choletais garment manufacturers’ association Mode Grand Ouest (stand 6ZK4) presents its new plan of action and Vent des Modes/Fashion (stand 6ZK8) refocuses on luxury ready-to-wear inspired by couture. From prototyping to logistics, the La Mothe-Achard company offers a full range of services. www.ventdesmodes.com Although Lithuania, specialises in circular knitting and natural fibres, the country has developed an apparel industry that spans all sectors, from jeans to suits, shirts to loose-fitting garments. Apparel (along with food) is one of the Baltic country’s two principal exports (up 6.5% in 2013). The country’s 7 exhibiting firms are regulars at the show and have managed to attract a global clientele. One of these is the Baltic Sewing company (stand 6ZJ9): flexibility and responsiveness are the two words that best describe the service offered by this firm, which has two factories enabling it to offer a fast turnaround. It imposes no minimum orders and prides itself on its high level of sewing expertise. www.balticsewing.com Press kit - 16.17.18 Sept. 2014 -4- Moldova: a fast-growing country that is steadily increasing its market share. After exhibiting at the show in 2011, Moldova presented an expanded offer at ZOOM 2013 that showed in-depth understanding of the Western European fashion industry. As a sign of its success, a contingent of 9 firms is exhibiting at this year’s show, including 3 newcomers for the show’s regular visitors: • Asena Textil (Stand 6ZH6-6ZJ7) is a mens, womens and childrens sportswear specialist whose products include trousers, skirts, sweaters and T-shirts. • Maicon (Stand 6ZH6-6ZJ7) is renowned especially for the high-quality products of its own label, Maicon. The firm offers mens, womens, teen and childrens casual wear, including shirts, trousers, boxers and babydolls. • Velitextil (Stand 6ZH6-6ZJ7) is a Moldovan firm that specialises in childrens and babywear, offering manufacturing of trousers, skirts, dresses, T-shirts etc. Portugal: a key player in Western fashion offering outstanding value for money and wide range of sectors within the industry. The Worldwide Sourcing study presented at ZOOM in February revealed that 80% of Portuguese apparel exports were destined for the EU, and that the sector represents 8.9% of the country’s total exports. Its 10 exhibiting firms, handpicked by the Selectiva Moda Association, reflect the diversity of Portugal’s manufacturing offer, including coats and jackets, polo shirts, footwear, lingerie and childcare products. • Crescendo Texteis (Stand 6ZA14) With 25 years of exports experience, this entirely internationally orientated firm has instituted a rigorous quality control system throughout its production chain and distribution network. This attention to detail has attracted the loyal custom of such distinguished brands as Le Temps des Cerises and La Halle aux Vêtements. Romania: always the biggest European contingent at ZOOM, the country still has large-scale garment manufacturing infrastructure and specialises in thick coats and jackets and knitted garments. Romania is one of France’s top ten apparel suppliers, while also exporting extensively to Italy, Germany and the UK. 17 firms return to ZOOM to offer specialist know-how. • Euroconf Paulo Rossi (stand 6ZJ5) was established in 1991 and produces mens suits at a rate of 950 pieces per day for jackets and 400 pieces per day for trousers. The company is already operating in a number of different European and global markets thanks largely to its ISO 900: 2008 certification - and has its own labels: Paolo Rossi and MORATHI. www.euroconf.ro Press kit - 16.17.18 Sept. 2014 -5- 2. 2. Countries on the Mediterranean shores The Mediterranean region is teeming with firms offering vital services to the European and global fashion industry. Morocco and Tunisia are two key suppliers that often appear just behind the large Asian firms in sourcing statistics. Morocco, followed by Tunisia, is Europe’s fourth largest knitwear supplier. Morocco is also a key supplier of leather goods, lying in fifth place ahead of Tunisia in eighth. Tunisia follows India as the fifth largest sportswear supplier (Source: CBI Tradewatch Apparel 2013). However, Turkey’s highly structured and creative manufacturing sector is still number one in the Mediterranean. It is Europe’s largest Mediterranean supplier, with French apparel imports from the country worth €8,591,000 in 2013 (Euratex), just behind Bangladesh. Exports of Turkeyproduced apparel rose by 8% in 2013. Morocco: ZOOM’s number one exhibiting country since the show’s launch, Morocco presents 28 firms at this session. The Moroccan pavilion offers every possible service relating to apparel, accessories and household textiles. Everything from supplies to workwear, from lingerie to knitwear, jeans to down jackets, leather goods to scarves and hats, prototypes to limited series: an abundance of tried-and-tested techniques and know-how for fashion collections. • Groupe 2006 SARL (Stand 6ZB3) Groupe 2006 is a multi-specialist mens ready-to-wear manufacturer, producing trousers, jackets, suits, coats and holdalls for a range of markets, including mens, womens and kids. The firm’s expertise and creative production skills also enable it to produce its customers private-label designs. The firm’s production is based exclusively in the Euro-Med region to ensure consistent quality from manufacturing through to logistics and sales. www.groupe2006.com Tunisia: although it has been somewhat avoided in recent months as a result of the Arab Spring, Tunisia has nevertheless managed to retain the confidence of its regular customers and is attending this year’s ZOOM with a strong contingent of 18 firms, all of which have expertise in a wide range of ready-to-wear products and services: woven garments, knitted garments, beachwear, outdoor clothing, bags, shoes, research and development, purchasing… everything is possible. • Dorratex (Stand 6ZG13) fis the sort of loyal manufacturer that is difficult to come by one that offers a wide range of highly technical solutions with no minimum orders. Its production teams are capable of producing complex designs in fabrics such as silk, satin, Georgette and crêpe de Chine. It is this technical excellence that has earned the firm the trust of such prestigious brands as The Kooples, Chloé and Bragard across a number of sectors, including made-up articles, womens ready-to-wear, childrenswear, baby, and particularly corporate uniforms. www.dorratex.com • Scoop Tunisie (Stand 6ZG14) specialises in sportswear and outdoor clothing for men, women and kids, offering products such as trousers, jackets, scarves and headscarves. With a dedicated fashion-watch team monitoring trends, the company offers its customers new collections attuned to future consumer demand. www.scooptunisie.com Press kit - 16.17.18 Sept. 2014 -6- Turkey: although it is a longstanding participant in the show, particularly with mens shirting from ZOOM regular Doramafi Sicilia’s (Stand 6ZDA) and Kayen-Teks (stand 6ZE7), the often fast-fashion orientated country has boosted its contingent in recent years with a number of firms that have become increasingly responsive to buyers’ special requirements. This session Turkey presents 7 exhibiting firms, with four newcomers: • Finteks Tekstil (stand 6ZD8) is a big firm offering a wide range of solutions to meet its customers’ needs. French clients include Camaïeu, Etam, Jennyfer, Jacqueline Riu, Grain de Malice, La City and Bon Prix. The company has an annual production capacity of 9 million pieces, as well as high-tech equipment that includes 3D programming for creating product samples for men, women, kids and baby. • Bizden Giyim (stand 6ZD10) BIZDEN is a menswear specialist that produces sportswear, wedding attire, home wear and casual wear. www.bizdengiyim.com • Man Wear (stand 6ZE3) is a mens and womens shirt manufacturer that works closely with its customers from design to delivery. The company is constantly innovating and developing new washes, cuts and treatments to meet the market’s fast-changing demands. www.menintown.com • Seleksiyon Tekstil (stand 6ZE9) manufactures mens, womens and childrens knitted garments, offering a wide range of products such as shirts, dresses, jackets and jumpers. Gaining customer loyalty is Seleksiyon Tekstil’s top priority, making the company an excellent manufacturing partner. www.seleksiyon.com.tr Press kit - 16.17.18 Sept. 2014 -7- 3. Indian Ocean In light of their special partnership with the EU and France, Madagascar and Mauritius have exhibited at ZOOM since the show’s launch. Their apparel industries benefit from trade agreements that the countries have signed with Europe (the Cotonou Agreement and the Lomé Convention). While, after more than five years of political upheaval, diplomatic relations between the EU and Madagascar have now been fully restored, Mauritius has managed to come out the other side with a steady revenue of 885 million dollars for 2013. Mauritius: 15 firms compose the Mauritian pavilion. The country’s main expertise is in jeans, beachwear, lingerie, knitwear and textile and leather accessories. Regular exhibitors include Palmar (stand 6ZE6), Nouvelle Lingerie Mauricienne (stand 6ZF6), Fit-U Garment (stand 6ZF13) and Créations Isle du Cygne (stand 6ZE10). The country also presents two new firms: • Sky jeans (Stand 6ZE8) is a Mauritian firm specialising in mens and womens jeans. • Chemiserie Bellvill (Stand 6ZE12) manufactures mens shirts of all kinds, from wedding shirts and city wear to street wear and high street fashion. Madagascar: Madagascar’s manufacturers may be irregular participants, as a result of the island’s political instability, but they are always successful. Since May 2014, the Cotonou Agreement has been renewed after a period of suspension, giving visitors the opportunity to discover casualwear specialist Celto Andriamahefa (Stand 6ZG5): home wear, outdoor clothing and street wear, as well as jeans and work wear. Press kit - 16.17.18 Sept. 2014 -8- Zoom celebrates the Première Vision Grand Jury prize from the Hyères International Fashion and Photography Festival: Kenta Matsushige Zoom will be showcasing the work of Kenta Matsushige, winner of the Première Vision Grand Jury prize at the Hyères International Fashion and Photography Festival 2014. © Etienne Tordoir - CatwalkPicture © The Stimuleye Kenta Matsushige won the coveted award at the 29th Hyères International Fashion and Photography Festival in April this year. The young Japanese designer was awarded the 2014 Première Vision Grand Jury prize by a jury headed by Kenzo creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon. He graduated from the École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne fashion school in 2012, and now lives and works in Paris. Première Vision has been involved with the celebrated young fashion designers’ festival for the past four years and awarded the €15,000 Première Vision Grand Jury prize for the second year running. Kenta Matsushige’s womenswear collection, HINABI, is inspired by unexpected juxtapositions, like the artists Walter de Laria and Lee Ufanqui who exhibit their pieces in a nature setting, often on the Japanese island of Naoshima: “My collections aim to be urban and modern, whilst respecting hinabi, pastoral beauty, which is in contrast to miyabi, urban beauty”, he says. Kenta Matsushige’s creations, both architectural and poetic, have also been produced with the support of Première Vision. The exhibition devoted to the young Japanese designer’s work will be held in the northeast section of Hall 6, at the entrance to ZOOM and also where ZOOM and Première Vision meet. The exhibition design, largely inspired by the designer’s work, will include the video of the catwalk show from the previous Festival. It will also be an opportunity to meet the award-winner and the team from the Hyères International Fashion and Photography Festival. The designer will enjoy exceptional visibility among international fashion industry professionals, including the media, buyers, designers and major fashion brands. As happens every year, the 10 finalists were invited in February to Première Vision, Modamont and Expofil where they were given special access to the products of the world’s leading yarns, fabrics and accessories manufacturers. They also met selected exhibitors from the fashion manufacturing show, ZOOM, to help them with sourcing for their collections. Conflux, Picos and Servistyl Productions also helped produce the collections of Coralie Marabelle (winner of the Public/Ville d’Hyères award) and Liselore Frowijn (joint Chloe award winner). A presentation at the Press Club of four silhouettes by award winners from the previous festival will turn the spotlight on the exhibitors from Première Vision, Modamont, Cuir à Paris and ZOOM who helped produce these collections.
