Flamenco and jazz go together regarding the new project of the Master Pepe Habichuela and the jazz bass player Dave
Holland, two monsters in their respective disciplines, who, after sharing experiences in live, decided to express them in
Hands. The first one is member of a dynasty which had a big role in the evolution of flamenco and the fusion during the last
years. His brother Juan Habichuela belongs to it; it is a great guitarist who accompanies famous artists like the Ketama
members. Something little-known, but important as well, Pepe (as his brother) can pride himself on having played with
CAmaron, Marchena or Enrique Morente. Dave Holland, for his part, is one of the most important actual jazz bass player. His
records and collaborations are innumerable, however it is necessary to underline that he participated to projects with Miles
Davis or Chick Corea.

“Anthology” is a luxury edition, a memorable edition. It’s what prepares us Estrella Morente. The singer gets her 3 first
albums together in this Anthology of 3 CD and 1 DVD: Mi cante y un poema, Calle del Aire and Mujeres. Precisely the last one
of them, Mujeres was rewarded by the Music award 2006 to the Best Flamenco Album. This disc contains "Volver", the
sonorous band of the movie of Pedro Almodóvar in that Morente recalls Carlos Gardel's famous tango.
Anthology is completed by a DVD: Casacueva and scene to which is added the concert of presentation of her first album
celebrated in 2001 in the Theatre Lara of Madrid.

After several years of musical silence, José el francés is raised again to the train of the music by this new qualified work

'Calle del aire' shows, once again, that the quality of the voice of Estrella Morent is totally out of question. Her maturity and
sensibility make this new flamenco record a unique piece that only and extraordinary cantaor can match. Having waited for
so long for her debut, it comes as a surprise the release of two albums in one year. Calle del Aire is a an album with a
Christmas flair made up of eleven popular songs and a 'present' that have been adapted by Estrella's father and musical
mentor, legendary singer Enrique Morente.
'Calle del Aire' is far more than a mere Christmas carol album, since it has a lot of flamenco with two secret tricks: the sweet
and delicate voice of Estrella and the unmistakable Morente seal. The first track has Chano Dominguez on the piano and
belongs to some themes that Enrique Morente composed for Yerma, a famous García Lorca play. It was Laura García Lorca, a
poet's niece, who introduced the Morentes to this carols, and Estrella performs it with sweetness, flirting with the cante. The
album also includes the song “Los cuatro muleros”, a popular tune that Lorca unearthed which rises to new heights with
Estrella's rendition.
There are also the Albaicín party cantes like the eponymous "Calle del Aire" y "Salve gitana del Sacromonte". There are two
signals of the Jerezans tendencies of this woman from Granada: the bulería "Tabanco" and "Bulería por soleá". There is a
version Jonda of "Silent Night" (Noche de Paz), which acts like a warning in this war times we're living through. The lyrics of
this song have been modified by Enrique Morente, and José Manuel Cañizares is to be found on the flamenco guitar
accompanying the Cantaora. The album has traditional song that are normally heard while tasting aniseed drinks, like the
Castillian tonada 'Que quieres que te traiga, que voy a Burgos' and 'Caracol', the latter of which was sung by Encarna,
Estrella's grandma. The Sefardí tune 'Tangos del Chavico', the album's first single, has a contagious rhthm and is sung by
the Morente family on their Christmas gatherings.
The album rounds up with 'Regalo de Navidad' (Christmas present), called so because it's considered it was a present from
Maestro Sabicas to Estrella when she was only seven years old, and was already a promising star. Sabicas sang a taranta to
the girl and she replied singing another one. Journalist José Manuel Gamboa captured that moment on tape so that we can
still enjoy it.

After a break of almost three years, Niña Pastori is offering us her seventh disc, "Deseando Verte", a real "flamenco" work
and "full of illusions". She composed this new disc with her husband, Chaboli, who also is taking care of their little girl.
The artist also includes some themes from Buenos Aires and Brazil with "Capricho de mujer", and another theme is a mix
between rumba and tango.
Pastori also counts with the participation of flamenco stars like Vicente Amigo, José Miguel Carmona or Diego el Morao,

Rubalcana take the place of Bebo Valdés.
This new album contains a mix between flamenco music and boleros, chachacha, copla and tango. This CD offers new songs
versions as "Dos Gardenias" and "Compromiso" by Antonio Machin, or some coplas as "Maria de la O" by Rafael de Leon and
"Dos cruces" by Antonio Molina. One of the album's surprise is "Caruso" by Paco Dalla, a fabulous half-cast tango.

In his third record with the title “Río de los Canasteros”, Diego Amador has done his most creative work.
He counted on the wonderful collaborators as Tomatito, Raimundo Amador, Tino Di, Geraldo, Carles Benavent. The different

'Pokito a poko', their new record, includes eleven new songs to allow you to enjoy flamenco chill in your own living room.
After "Endorfinas en la mente" (2003), Chambao returns with "Pokito a poko", with which the band looks ahead to the future,
as the title suggests, and to develop a very personal and different kind of music. Their album brings together, once again
without any kind of prejudice, the warm sounds of the south with contemporary electronic music. This fusion sounds natural
and universal, and the southern sun shines over its cold technological dimension.
What started off as a trio is now a duet, formed by María del Mar Rodríguez, "LaMari" and Eduardo Casañ "ElEdi". In spite of
this change, Chambao continues to produce street music that is far removed from elitism, it still creates the enveloping,
relaxed and smooth atmospheres that were part of its previous record, although "Pokito a poko" has a livelier rhytmic
dimension than "Endorfinas en la mente".
Chambao continues to use flamenco as a starting point, which is featured through the flamenco guitar playing that subtly
glides over the entire record, as well as in the flamenco sounds and styles that are used in the fusion. In "Pokito a poko",
listeners can perceive bulerías, sevillanas, rumbas, tangos, pasodobles (themes played to the beat of an ordinary march,
and the dance associated with them) and even the "ida y vuelta" styles, even though they are sifted through the band's
characteristic musical style, and filtered through the electronic sequences and programming. Overall, it features more
flamenco chill, of the high-grade variety.
Bulerías can be heard in "Mi primo Juan", "Como la luz" and "Chicuelo"; "Uleré" blends sevillanas with sounds that are more
contemporary. Cuba is present in "Roé por la escalera", an electronic "cante de ida y vuelta"; Brazil and the bossa nova
intermingle with tangos in "Sueño y muero". "Pokito a poko" is a rumba and "Te la creío tú" sounds like a contemporary
pasodoble, as a form of innovation of the genre.
The album was recorded by La Mari and ElEdi in Punta Paloma (Cádiz), and was produced by Bob Benozzo, with whom they
had already worked on the band's previous record, and it was subsequently mastered in Milan. Miguel Campello, the singer
of Elbicho, is featured on the song "Como lo siento".

The flamenco dancer Ana Salazar shows, in 'Claros del alma', all the calm and sensitivity that was brought by her recent

With 'Claros del Alma', Ana Salazar starts as a composer with 'Andrés y el mar' and 'Conclusión', two themes of her last disc
in which the artist faces 'all the fears she had' and remembers 'a little angel who left very soon'.
With every shorts, the flamenco dancer brings some brushstrokes of every things that were part of her life through artists
she admires and from whom she recovered songs such as, for instance, 'Le bleu de tes yeux' - tribute to everything 'given'
by Piaf- or the Luz Casal's theme 'Mi confianza'. According to Ana Salazar, this was her sound track during her recover of a

but the entire Latin music world is fair game as interpretations of the bolero, son montuno, samba, and salsa add upt to the
sauce. 'Mienteme' kicks off with tremulous guitar in the Moorish style of Radio Tarifa, but Antonio Carmona's warm voice
instantly alleviates the austerity, a trap drum kit opens up the bottom, and before long precision sax and trumpet lines
launch a party out in the street. Guests include the revered Pepe Habichuela plus Brazilian music legend Caetano Veloso on

During the nineties the collection 'Los Jovenes Flamencos' of Nuevos Medios went down in history by presenting to the world
a new generation of flamenco artists with an international projection and a vocation for the future. We hope that the same
thing happens with 'Fragua Futura', wich so far has proven that the river of flamenco still flows unstoppable with a renovated
volume.
'Fragua Futura' continues the Jóvenes Flamencos series that the Nuevos Medios record label started to release in the 1990s,
to give an opportunity to up-and-coming young artists. The record successfully combines young promises of flamenco like
Triana Heredia, Kímica and Los Malaguita with other musicians who have already earned recognition, like Montoyita, El Negri
and Estrella Morente. All of them belong to recognised flamenco families. The record is completed by the production work
undertaken by Javier Limón and El Negri, and includes some peculiar contributions like the ones made by the bullfighters
Javier Conde and Enrique Ponce, or by Raúl González, the Real Madrid football player, in the choruses and palmas (rhythmic
hand clapping).

José Rodríguez Vázquez was born in Herrault (France) in 1971.
When his family moved to San Blas (Madrid), José started to be known as El Francés (The French fellow), and soon flamenco
singers such as El Potito and Pepe de Lucía recorded his compositions. Nuevos Medios offered him to record his first records,
respecting both his euro-romanticism, the gypsy echo of his voice and the street wise personality of his songs. The result

flamenco connections too; her father and musical mentor is legendary singer Enrique Morente, her accompanists include
veteran guitarist Manolo Sanlucar as well as new flamenco stars Ketama, and to cap it all she's married to a 'matador'. Her
long-awaited debut album was recorded both live in concert and in studios in Cadiz, Madrid and Granada, and produced by
her father Enrique.
Estrella is accompanied by some of Spain’s finest talents, including the Carmonas and Habichuelas — cousins and uncles
who form a veritable roll-call of late 20th century flamenco’s greatest innovators (notably Juan and Pepe Habichuela, and the
Carmonas as Ketama, the cutting-edge flamenco-blues-rock group). They are the extended family she grew up with, in
Granada’s medieval quarter by the spectacular Moorish Alhambra Palace. Nearby is the Sacromonte hill where several songs
were recorded in the natural atmosphere of the caves — traditional hillside homes of the Gypsy population from whose clans

Rumba Argelina succeeds in representing 'its place at the meeting point between Iberia and Africa [...], maintaining the
miraculous balance of a tight rope walker, tilting first one way and then another, without ever falling back into either
country.", as reflected in tu blurb.
Radio Tarifa are thoroughly 'contemporary', but in this case the word doesn't signify turntables, expensive remixes and
sequenced beats. Their music is conjured up in a recording studio by two multi-instrumentalists - Fain S Duenas and Vincent
Molino - and singer/lyricist Benjamin Escoriza. Much of it is drawn from traditional Mediterranean sources, but the trio have
forced these scraps of tunes, stories, rhythms and rhymes into an ingenious modern mould. They use no electronics, and
hardly any electric instruments, apart from bass guitar and occasional electric guitar.
Rumba Argelina, Radio Tarifa's 1993 debut album, was the result of the trio's basement studio creativity. Charlie Gillett,the
person who pioneered world music radio in Britain, compares its impact to that of the Band's Music From Big Pink - a
wake-up call for a complacent music establishment.

based band Maita Venda Ca, a name which in Caló jergon means 'my mother is Gypsy'. The lessons learnt in the previous

is the deepest legacy of the New Flamenco age and one of the most influential records of the Spanish pop history. Alejandro
Sanz, Ruben Blades or Fito Paez value Ray Heredia as an extraordinary artist. He is one of the founders of the Ketama group
in 1985, then he left the band to start his own career. He took part in the "Sobreviviré" original soundtrack. Produced by
Mario Pacheco and Teo Cardalda, remixed by Duncan Cowell from UK.
Ray Heredia has an incomparable voice, with some marks of melancholy, giving a special touch to is songs. The canon of the

This special edition of 'Negri y Paquete', includes, apart from the original 10-track CD, another CD with songs recorded with
other artists which were previosly published in other albums, like collaborations with Armando Manzanero (Mexican bolero
composer an singer), Sole (from Presuntos Implicados), Remedios Amaya, Cómplices and a few others. La Barbería says "this
extra CD will allow people to see that we are a band with a long career behind us. This is a great chance for the people to
discover us, and it is also a present to our fans'.
4 years had passed since their last studio album Arte Pop. La Barbería del Sur releases now "Negri y Paquete", the two
artistic names of this Spanish new flamenco duet. For this album, La Barbería had the support of well known flamenco
musicians like Carles Benavent, Jorge Pardo, Pedro Barceló, and Nacho Mañó, from pop band Presuntos Implicados. The duet
formed by Enrique Heredia 'Negri' y Juan José Suárez 'Paquete' emphasizes on their wide approach to flamenco music, open
to fuse rhythms like pop, jazz, Tropical Latin, Spanish tratitional, Brazilian, pop and poetry, with special attention to 'La
generación del 27', which includes poets like Federico García Lorca, Rafael Alberti and Luis Cernuda.
