Our group
EMS Ship Supply is a division of Eitzen Maritime Services ASA (EMS), a maritime services
group headquartered in Oslo, Norway and listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. EMS is a part
of the Eitzen group which is well-known for a wide range of shipping, real estate and industry
activities worldwide.
EMS Ship Supply has experienced considerable growth over the last couple of years, mainly
through acquisitions. The acquisition of Spanish Provimar in 2007 provided EMS with a strong
position in the Mediterranean and on the Iberian Peninsula. All previous Provimar operations in
Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Morocco, Croatia, Uruguay, Argentina and the United States are now
being operated under the EMS brand.
The 2008 acquisition of Seven Seas Shipchandlers, with headquarters and warehouse facilities
in Dubai and operations throughout the Middle East, gave EMS Ship Supply a leading position
also in this region, which is one of the world’s most dynamic and fast growing.
Today’s EMS Ship Supply has a global service offering, where customers benefit from

The Eitzen Group has been part of the worldwide shipping industry for 125 years.
Eitzen Maritime Services (EMS), of which EMS Ship Supply is a division, brings together
maritime skills and services in an unprecedented and attractive combination: the worlds of technical
management and ship supply. The company creates value for customers and shareholders through a
multi-disciplined organisation, purchasing capabilities and efficient logistics. EMS has operations
around the globe and includes the business areas EMS Ship Supply, EMS Ship Management and
EMS Insurance Brokers.
EMS Ship Supply, formerly known as Strømme, was established in 1971 as a supplier of marine
products and technical equipment mainly to the Norwegian maritime industry. In 2006 Strømme
was acquired by EMS and assumed the name EMS Ship Supply.
In 2007 EMS acquired the Spanish Provimar, headquartered in Barcelona and with operations
throughout the Mediterranean and the Iberian Peninsula. Provimar dates back to 1972 and specializes in ship supply as well as sales and distribution of duty free goods to vessels and management
of duty free shops. Provimar is now operating under the EMS Ship Supply brand.
In 2008 Seven Seas Shipchandlers was acquired by EMS and is also part of EMS Ship Supply.
The company is headquartered in Dubai and operates throughout the United Arab Emirates as well
as in Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Djibouti. The merchant fleet and military vessels are the
company most important customer segments. The acquisition included Seven Seas’ highly efficient
logistical centre and warehouse, strategically located in Dubai.
