Agenda
8:30 - 9:00 am Registration, Light Breakfast, Networking, Exhibitor Visitation
9:00 - 9:15 am Welcome & Introductions
9:15 - 10:15 am Resolving Back, Joint and Muscle Pain Without Drugs and Surgery
Eileen Kopsaftis, MS, PT
Most people will suffer from some form of musculoskeletal discomfort at some time in their lives, usually as a
result of accidents (often at the workplace), sports injuries, obesity, postural imbalance, and being sedentary.
Eileen Kopsaftis will discuss how drugs can interfere with recovery; how unreliable imaging is for identifying
the cause of pain; the risks associated with surgeries, and specific techniques for resolving these conditions
with exercise, manual physical therapy techniques, and body work. During her session, Eileen will also discuss
how effective employer programs can help reduce the use of drugs and surgeries, decrease healthcare costs, and
significantly reduce future injuries and claims.
10:15 - 10:30 am Break, Networking, Exhibitor Visitation
10:30 - 10:40 am Sponsor Recognition
10:40 - 11:40 am Effective Treatments for Mental and Emotional Disorders
William Lessler, M.ED., LPCC
$33 billion dollars were spent on drugs to treat conditions like depression, anxiety and ADHD in 2010, yet there
is no evidence that there is any chemical imbalance in the brain that causes these issues. William Lessler will
explain how people develop mental and emotional disorders, how drugs actually make them worse, and how
the right therapy can help people to regain their mental and emotional health in order to either avoid drugs or
withdraw from them. This workshop will provide employers details on how mental health intervention programs
can be used in an employer environment, and how these programs can affect healthcare costs, attendance, and
employee productivity.
11:40 am - 12:40 pm Lunch & Networking
12:40 - 1:00 pm Break, Networking, Exhibitor Visitation
1:00 - 2:00 pm Motivating People to Change/Creating a Culture of Health
Dr. Pamela Popper PhD, ND, Executive Director, The Wellness Forum
Most disease conditions, like type-2 diabetes, coronary artery disease, autoimmune diseases, and cancer, are
“food-borne” illnesses caused by incorrect food choices. They are further exacerbated by other lifestyle habits,
like lack of exercise. Dr. Pam Popper will share with you how employees can be motivated to make significant
dietary changes that result in arresting and even reversing these diseases, and how employers can gradually
change their policies and environment to reinforce good diet and lifestyle choices, and discourage poor ones.
2:00 - 2:15 pm Break, Networking, Exhibitor Visitation
2:15 - 3:15 pm Panel Presentation & Discussion
Kelly Hagan, Compliance Officer, Director of Operations, Employee Benefits, Neace Lukens and Joseph L. Wheatley,
Property & Casualty Marketing Director, Neace Lukens
For our panelist discussion, we will welcome back to the stage our keynote speakers as well as experts in the fields
of employer wellness, and workers’ compensation, legal, and compliance. Together this panel will round out the
day giving attendees that “ah hah” moment. Employers will leave this session better equipped to develop the
vision necessary to achieve a “well culture”. Come to this session prepared to “grill” our panel of leaders in their
respective areas and leave with the answers you need to apply to your specific culture.
