Stéphane Cassereau, who chairs the CCRRDT (Consultative Regional Research and Development Committee) wants to launch a combined work and training centre (the first of its kind in France) which will offer around twenty programmes of various levels (from professional high school certificates to masters degrees and doctorates, via BTS and DUT), based on advanced production technologies. The Jules Verne technological research institute (IRT) near Nantes will be creating a national combined work and training centre. This project is intended to provide support to local industries, supported by a solid industrial framework, including the ship building and aerospace sector. It will provide a wide range of training programmes, from professional high school certificates to doctorates. Businesses will provide the programme with educational support according to their respective skills.
