This excerpt from the decree from the Apostolic Penitentiary is provided to help you disseminate
proper information regarding the Plenary Indulgence on the Sunday of Divine Mercy.
Three Conditions for the Plenary Indulgence
And so the Supreme Pontiff, motivated by an ardent desire to foster in Christians this devotion to Divine Mercy as much as possible in the hope of offering great spiritual fruit to the faithful, in the Audience granted on 13
June 2002, to those Responsible for the Apostolic Penitentiary, granted the following Indulgences:
A plenary indulgence, granted under the usual conditions (sacramental confession, Eucharistic Communion
and prayer for the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff) to the faithful who, on the Second Sunday of Easter or
Divine Mercy Sunday, in any church or chapel, in a spirit that is completely detached from the affection for a
sin, even a venial sin, take part in the prayers and devotions held in honor of Divine Mercy, or who, in the
presence of the Blessed Sacrament exposed or reserved in the tabernacle, recite the Our Father and the Creed,
adding a devout prayer to the merciful Lord Jesus (e.g. Merciful Jesus, I trust in you!);
A partial indulgence, granted to the faithful who, at least with a contrite heart, pray to the merciful Lord Jesus
a legitimately approved invocation.
For those who cannot go to church or the seriously ill:
In addition, sailor working on the vast expanse of the sea: the countless brothers and sisters, whom the disasters of war, political events, local violence and other such causes have been driven out of their homeland; the
sick and those who nurse them, and all who for a just cause cannot leave their home or who carry out an activity for the community which cannot be postponed, may obtain a plenary indulgence on Divine Mercy Sunday,
if totally detesting any sin, as has been said before, and with the intention of fulfilling as soon as possible the
three conditions, will recite the Our Father and the Creed before a devout image of Our Merciful Lord Jesus
and, in addition, pray a devout invocation to the Merciful Lord Jesus (e.g. Merciful Jesus, I trust in you).
If it is impossible that people do even this, on the same day they may obtain the Plenary Indulgence if with a
spiritual intention they are united with those carrying out the prescribed practice for obtaining the Indulgence
in the usual way and offer to the Merciful Lord a prayer and the sufferings of their illness and the difficulties
of their lives, with the resolution to accomplish as soon as possible the three conditions prescribed to obtain
the plenary indulgence.

“What society would continue
if it declared that it is the right of
citizens to kill innocent persons by majority [vote]? In the best scenario it would be converted into a tyranny, against which upright persons would have to react, according to this advice
by Gandhi: ‘As soon as one understands that obeying unjust laws is contrary to his dignity as a man,
no tyranny can dominate him.”’

After forty days during which Jesus
showed himself to the apostles with ordinary human features which veiled his glory as the Risen
One, Christ ascended into heaven and was seated at
the right hand of the Father. He is the Lord who
now in his humanity reigns in the everlasting glory
of the Son of God and constantly intercedes for us
before the Father. He sends us his Spirit and he
gives us the hope of one day reaching the place he
has prepared for us.
Within every heart is a battlefield between love and lust. In this presentation, Jason Evert discusses the strategies necessary to win the war and uproot the vice of pornography once and
for all. Jason is an internationally
know Catholic author and speaker. He has spoken to
more than one million people around the world and
is the author of more than a dozen books, including
“Pure Manhood” and “Theology of His Body”.
Parishioner Comment: This talk is very good and
points to the way for men to avoid Pornography.
This talk provides insights and conviction to everyone who hears it.

Greatly Merciful God, Infinite Goodness, today all mankind calls out
from the abyss of its misery to Thy mercy ~ to Thy compassion, O God;
and it is with its mighty voice of misery that it cries out. Gracious God, do
not reject the prayer of this earth's exiles! O Lord, Goodness beyond our
understanding, Who art acquainted with our misery through and through,
and know that by our own power we cannot ascend to Thee, we implore
Thee: anticipate us with Thy grace and keep on increasing Thy mercy in
us, that we may faithfully do Thy holy will all through our life and at
death's hour. Let the omnipotence of Thy mercy shield us from the darts
of our salvation's enemies, that we may with confidence, as Thy children,
await Thy final coming ~ that day known to Thee alone. And we expect to
obtain everything promised us by Jesus in spite of all our wretchedness.
For Jesus is our hope: Through His merciful Heart, as through an open
gate, we pass through to Heaven. ~ St. Maria Faustina Diary (1570)
