Who We Are

Caoba coleccion de muebles, a firm
specializing in luxe, handcrafted
and architectural furniture, was
founded by brothers Alex and
Lawrence Lithgow who design and
manufacture pieces that reflect
custom quality in their construction.
„
Caoba designs reflect a variety of
influences from regency to midcentury, executed primarily in
mahogany. Other woods used
include oak, walnut and teak.
The Collection

The furniture can be identified by an
understated elegance that compliments a
wide range of interiors. The collection,
which includes sofas, mirrors, chairs and
lamps in addition to coffee and end
tables, currently contains over 40 pieces
which vary in influence but come
together firmly rooted in tradition yet
decidedly vanguard.

The collection can be seen at Highland
Park in New York, Hollis & Knight in
D.C., The Icon Group in Boston, Town
Studios in Denver and Ernest Gaspard &
Associates in Atlanta, as well as

Lawrence Lithgow, President & CEO
Production & Business Affairs
Alex Lithgow, Vice President
Lawrence was previously employed by
Thomas K. Woodard before a nine-year stint
at Gomez Associates under the tutelage of
Mariette Himes Gomez.
Alex worked as a portrait photographer
shooting various private clients before
embarking on a career in photo set design with
Mihai Badulescu.
Sales & Marketing
Born in Manhattan of
Honduran and Dominican descent,
brothers Alex & Lawrence Lithgow
developed their aesthetic while working
in New York’s photo
and design industries.
The brothers now collaborate as the
principal designers at Caoba.

you need if you have a room with high
ceilings, “ Klein notes. “And the limed
finish is lovely. But it’s not a reading
lamp – it’s over-scale and needs plenty
of space.” Footer finds it “beautiful
architectural, with really pure details.
It’s definitely a standout, stand-alone
piece.”
