Military conflicts inspired some fashionable styles. • The Garibaldi Blouse from the red shirts worn by the soldiers fighting under General Giuseppe Garibaldi for the liberation of Italy • Zouave jackets worn by Algerian soldiers and adopted by an American Civil War regiment.
