Families that have not yet returned the Family Verification of Having Read the 2016-2017 ParentStudent Handbook (found at the back of the handbook), please sign and return to the school office
by Friday of this week. Our Lady of Guadalupe School must have confirmation that our school
families have received and reviewed the handbook, per diocesan policy. !

Scrip at OLG!
Scrip is a continuous year round fundraising program that helps raise money for
Our Lady of Guadalupe School. Scrip are plastic or electronic cards (aka gift
cards) that OLG receives from Great Lakes Scrip. The venders who participate
provide a percentage back to the nonprofits while providing the family who
purchases the scrip full face value of the card. A few establishments of the scrip
cards available include Target, Walmart, CVS, Michaels, Safeway, Lucky, ARCO,
Chevron, Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Cinemark Theaters. For a complete list of

Getting Started at shopwithscrip.com:
To place your scrip orders, you need to have a shopwithscrip account. To create
an account go to www.shopwithscrip.com and click on Register located at the top
right corner, then choose the Join Scrip Program option and enter the required
information as prompted. OLG’s unique enrollment code is 935D3D9936989.
Note: If you already have a shopwithscrip account from another nonprofit, login
as usual and add OLG from Manage Non-Profit. Make sure OLG is selected as
your default Non-Profit before shopping.
Select SHOP at the top of the page to begin shopping. Pay OLG School via cash,
check, or prestopay. Once your order is paid for it will be processed by OLG’s
scrip coordinator and you will be notified when your order is ready for pickup.

PrestoPay:
You can pay for your scrip gift cards online with PrestoPay. When you use
PrestoPay your order payment is transferred securely via electronic debit. To
setup a PrestoPay account you need to be logged into shopwithscrip.com. Click
on the PrestoPay link located on the left navigation column and follow the steps as
described on the website. Once completed you will receive an activation code to
share with OLG’s scrip coordinator (Lois Henry). Once you give the code to Lois
Henry, she will activate your Prestopay account which enables you to choose the
PrestoPay option when you check out on shopwithscrip.com . A small $0.15 fee
will apply to each order.
Note: Reload is available for many vendors. Use prestopay to reload value on
scrip registered cards with a balance greater than zero in minutes!

EXTENDED CARE LATE PAYMENT FEE REMINDER
In accordance with the Parent/Student Handbook, past due Extended Care
accounts will be charged the $25 late payment fee. While this is not a new
policy, last year late-payment fees were waived due to the newness of the prepaid and drop-in system. Waivers are not expected to be offered this school
year.
DROP-IN EXTENDED CARE
Fees are due at the time of pick-up at the rate of $10/hour (charged on the
half-hour). There is a grace-period to pay the EC Drop-In by the end of the
week in which your child was in EC. If the drop-in fee isn’t paid by the end of
the week the charge, along with the late fee, will be added to your school
account.
PRE-PAID EXTENDED CARE
Hours shall be pre-paid in advance of child(ren) participating in Extended
Care. There is a grace-period to pay the hours to the end of the week in which
EC was used. If EC hours aren’t paid into your account by the end of the week
and the account has a negative-hours balance by Friday evening, the $25 late
charge will be added to your school account. The late fee will need to be paid
before additional hours can be added to your account.

Pay when dropping off or picking up at Extended Care
Place in a sealed envelope marked “bookkeeping” and send with your child

place in a sealed envelope marked “extended care payment” with your child’s
name on the outside of the envelope and send with your child to school.
You will receive a receipt for your cash payment.

Service Hour Reporting
Please remember to report your service hours by sending the details of your service to
[email protected]. In the email, include the name and grade of your oldest child so that your
hours are posted accurately.
Service Hours from the Harvest Festival & Crab Feed will be reported by the Committee Chairpersons, but
feel free to check that your hours were submitted. This is especially important if you worked a double shift
or more than one family member volunteered.
Report Service Hours directly to the Service Hour Coordinator when volunteering in the classroom, the
library, the office, or on field-trips. Please note that when you sign the visitor’s log in the office you are
NOT signing in for Service Hours, but merely indicating that you are on campus. Likewise, teachers and
staff members will not report Service Hours for this volunteering.
Families can claim 1 Service Hour for each $10 spent on donations (up to 11 hours for a 2-parent family
and up to 10 hours or a 1-parent family). You will need to attach a receipt to the Service Hour reporting
form, which can be found in the main office.
Hours spent volunteering with CYO count towards total service hours for a family and up to 20 of those
hours can count towards the minimum required service hours for the school. This is because CYO is a
parish-based organization.

This year's Fall fundraiser is currently in
progress. Each student took home a
catalog including items such as cookie
dough, red velvet cake roll, cinnamon rolls
and cheese cake to sell to your friends,
neighbors, co-workers and family
members.

Even though participation in this fundraiser
is not mandatory, families will earn one
service hour for every 5 items sold from
the catalog (for a maximum of 10 service
hours).

school by end of day Friday, September
16. Please only send in checks, payable
to OLG School, for any fundraising
items.
Delivery of the fundraiser items will be
on Tuesday, September 27. Please plan
to pick up the items ordered that day (after
2:00pm). Unfortunately, we don’t have
space to store orders overnight. Items can
be re-frozen and kept for up to 1 year or
they will also keep in the refrigerator for 3
days.
